  • I think the worst customer service in the UK is about Three mobile. I have been trying to disconnect from them for more than three months now. Though I have completed my contract they are not disconnecting me with several reasons. As I am afraid of the credit score, I am still paying them. I wonder why people complaint about talktalk as I always get good service from them, but never from three.

Talktalk is not a mobile operator - it is unfair to compare it with Three.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • I made the mistake of switching to 3 in June last year. I was signed up to an 18 month contract and was told (by Phones4U who I have concluded are crooks anyway!) I would be on 50% discounted contract for 6 months but could change my tariff after this time. It now appears that this is not correct and to add insult to injury, 3 have changed their terms and conditions so you have to pay to switch tariff within the contract period.

The phone I was supplied is faulty and although the phone was barely one month old when it developed a fault, I was refused a replacement. It then transpires (looking on the Nokia site, that this phone config for 3 is notorious for going wrong!)

3 also managed to lose my direct debit information three months on the trot!

I have never received so much mobile spam as I do now I have switched to 3.

The coverage is pretty poor for me (I have found issues in Knutsford, Horsham, Hastings but 3 claims they have 100% coverage in all these areas).

I can't wait to switch away from them as soon as I possibly can. Lots of lessons to learn here, one is never to trust another phone retailer again, the other is to investigate a potential supplier in advance and not be lured into switching supplier on the spur of the moment.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • My experience of 3 is that it is worse than awful!!

I had a contract with them over a year ago. Customer service - well there was none. I don't know if they used foreign call centres at the time, but the operators had very poor English, to the point where it was sometimes impossible to actually explain the problem to them.

I cancelled my contract several weeks before the one month notice period, so my contract was due to finish in December. IN MARCH THEY WERE STILL SENDING ME BILLS even though I'd stopped using the phone in November and the contract was 'cancelled'.

The money saved by going with them in the first place by no means compensated for the rubbish phone, rubbish coverage, and all round rubbish service.

I'm now on an O2 contract via Dialaphone, who I've always found to be good. New LG Shine phone (free), 600 any time any network mins, 500 texts, free voicemail - 18 month contract £17.50 for 14 months, £35 for 4 months.

They've got a recommend a friend scheme. If you want a free £10, email me charlotteblencowe at hotmail dot com - if you say I recommended you, I get £20, which I'd be happy to split with you.

I've ended up with a Nokia 6280 handset,

    Hiya,

I am looking at this handset also, can you tell me if the headset (mic/earphones) were in the box as well ??

    Many thanks

  • Can someone please confirm if 3 can charge me for wanting to reduce my price plan?

I moved from Orange to 3 around June last year, thinking I was getting a better deal (NOT). The promotion I started with finished in November last year. Therefore, I rang them to ask if I could switch to a different price plan as I am now paying £45 a month only to be told I had to be with the company 9 months to ring back early next year. I have never managed to use up all the talk\texts so wanted to reduce my plan.

When I phoned 3 yesterday they informed me not only will I have to pay £25 to downgrade but if I didn’t want to pay then I would have to extend my contract for a further six months. The informed me this charge was introduced in December 06. When, I explained that my contract was signed prior to December and that I would never have signed if I known about it. They claim it does not matter how long you have been with 3 any customer wishing to reduce their price plan will be liable.

Also the advised me that due to me being a existing customer i had only two price plans available to me one of which costs £40 and one at £35.

Has anyone had the same problems? And can we get round it?
