got the same offer as zytno, about £2pm without upgrade, but i need an upgrade, as my nokia 6280 is so rubbish, battery life only a day, useless!

topdollar: the battery life should be better than that. Do you ever switch it off? Mine suddenly started draining its battery heavily and sorted itself out by doing that - but not before Three told me to get the software updated for free at CPW and if that didn't help, they'd send me a new battery.

Yes, Three said take it to CPW which I did, but I'm not sure it helped - rebooting it did.

I have been with 3 since August last year, went with Coolnewmobile for cashback. The cashback side of it has been great monies so far rcd and am now waiting for my second cash back.

Nokia 6280 - is rubbish, battery life is useless, normally one day or just a few conversations and it's down really low.

As for 3, they are dreadful. I have had so many people say they have tried to call me or text me and theey get a message saying this number is not in use. Coverage is rubbish. When I speak to customer services I can't understand what they are saying. Now I accidentally damaged my phone with water spillage and find out that the 3 sim cards will only work in 3 phones. I have a couple of old spare phones I could have used but they are no good.

I took out insurance with coolnewmobile, and it is going to take 10 days to get either my phone fixed or send me a replacement. 3 will sell me a phone for £45 but not a nokia.

So I am really really fed up. When I was with Vodafone they were always excellent.

I have been with Three for 1.5 years now – no problems at all. In fact I find the customer service very good and very limited waiting times to get through to speak to someone (compared to my previous O2 contract).

My current contract finishes August. DAK if I can get a better deal or some free ad-on such as internet usage by calling them now? (as per MSE mobile article)
  • Ok here is my story

i have been with three after orange, because of a better deal with three.Trough a retailer i did this deal with cashback .No roblem ,three months in guy dissapears with everything .No cashback nothing.Nothing from 3 either .Tried cheaper option ,no succes ,They say its a deal between you and the retailer. So here i am left with 70,00 phonebill a month for 2 phones under 1 contract
    Three very unhelpfull
Hard to get through to customerservice and hard to understand

I've ranted about my 3 problem before however :
    1. After getting an OFCOM reference number 3 closed down my duplicate account which I didn't ask for.
    2. Three claimed they didn't understand my previous messages in email and by letter (recorded delivery)
    3. After getting the OFCOM reference number 3 couldn't act quickly enough to close the account
    4. Three's credit department have sent me a letter saying I owe them money. I am now writing to them with a "Letter before action" informing them that every letter I write to Three about the matter will occur a cost and they are to pay it or I will take them to court.

My advise is any problems with Three is:
    1. send a letter to their head office by recorded delivery.
    2. Wait for them to close the issue which they will do by sending you a text message
    3. then contact OFCOM on the phone and get a reference number.

If any of their customer service staff tries to threaten, intimidate or bully you ask for their name (make sure it is their proper name) and contact OFCOM immediately with the details.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Liza: I always suggest 6280 owners switch their phones off and on to see if this cures the high battery drain issue - it did for me. And of course Three SIMs won't work in old GSM "second generation" phones - Three is a third generation network, which uses totally different technology. (Other operators are using 3G now, too.) I'm not going to defend Three over your other problems though.

Zenouba: you'd get exactly the same treatment from any other operator if cashback goes belly-up, so it's unfair to blame Three. You should never enter a cashback deal unless you are aware of this possibility and can fund the consequences.
