  • Well I took the plunge 2 months ago with 3 on the £15 500mins cross network tariff and opted for the z610i, happy as Larry, no problems at all so far, I've had good coverage everywhere, I've since recommended 2 friends and my sister to take on the same and got £90 credit for doing so. All are happy as well.

yes but they haven't called you a theive yet,
I swear I wish I had never heard of them
I rang them last night to which they inplied I had got the handset which I hadnt, then said oh no it still in our collections department, they can have there contract I am finished with them
I never come across such a second hand service before as these guys,
not only that they have given my mobile numbers and house number to other companies so that they can ring and get me to get more contract phones,
    which very below the belt,
they didnt even ask if they could do this,
    3 you can stick it,
    you suck

Hang on a minute - how do you know that? Why would it have been in their interest to pass your data on to their competitors? If you can prove it's them, report them to the Information Commissioner as they are breaking the law.

    up-date on 3
they were stupid enough to ring out business number and guess what they got, ME,
but wait, only to ask if we wanted an up-grade on the phone, well you can imagine my reaction, I asked to speak to a supervisor, which one came on, then I had my rant, about the second hand service I was getting from them, they then said they would look into it,
they then phoned our other mobile which my son has, and give him a consignment number for parcel line and a 0845 number, to ring and check where it was, its there phone why do we have to find out where its gone, so anyway went onto parcel line online and this is what it says,
    12th april 2007 Leicester
    [SIZE=-1][FONT=helvetica,arial] 1 collected from sender
13th april 2007 01:23 1 birmingham hub forward to york
    13th april 2007 06:45 1 york security check
13th april 2007 08:14 1 york on vehicle for delivery by saturn.
so I am hoping that it will turn up today,
as for the details giveaway, its on the website unless you tick the boxes to say no, they give other companies your details so that they can then supply you with a 3 mobile but from they company affliates of 3,
enough said if the handset does turn up then ok,
dont know what went wrong with them,
as you usually get it next day not 2 or 3 days later, and then only after blowing your top on the phone,

its not considered ilegal by the company as if you dont go onto your my3 account and tick the boxes you are giving them permission to give/sell or details,

  • Well here is my experience with my current 3 phone. Was good until I got this phone....

I first joined up with 3 several years ago and got an LG phone and Sony Ericson on 12 month contracts. All was fine until last September when I upgraded again. I wanted to get a refurbished phone because the contracts were at £15 a month, I use my phone a fair bit (on my £25 a month contract) but could easily save money on the £15 a month deal. HOWEVER, after numerous conversations I was told I couldn't get that deal, they didn't have any refurbished phones in stock (contrary to what their website said). Plus my g/f a day later got one of these phones on the contract I wanted to add insult to injury.

Anyway, I basically settled on a Nokia N80 phone for 18 months. However I have realised what a poor phone it is straight away. First of all the battery just lasts a day with moderate use (a phone call or two and 10 text messages!) It now takes around 2 minutes to send a text message (seriously, from the time you hit send to the time it unlocks and allows you to do other stuff), and now all of a sudden whenever I get a text message it doesnt alert me at all like a normal phone does. You have to physically go into the Inbox to check. Together with long loading times (like when you hit Read when you do get a message, it takes 15 seconds for the message to come up, I timed it) I have really had enough of this phone.

Its like its broken, but in many ways it isn't. Just really really poor. Can I just turn around to 3 and ask for a replacement N80? Or can I just ask for a new phone on this new contract?

sounds like the phone is faulty, they do a free service for this, ring them on 333 from your handset and they will arrange for someone to collect it, then they fix it, and send it back to you free of charge, takes about 3-4 days,
free service if you still have a contract with them.
    hope this helps,

  • Hey thanks for the reply computerwoman, after a search on the net and a look on nokias website I went for a firmware update. This would seemingly update a few of the problems on the phone. However, after I started the update it was halfway through and the phone died... If the phone is disconnected it says then phone becomes corrupted and wont turn on, so you must charge it with a full battery. Which I did, and as it died it wont turn on! So going to need to ring some Indian tech support people to see what they can do....
