The contract length is indeed 18 months and the duration of the half price line rental depends on which handset you select.

    Quidco

    Valued Opinions

Yep, got that - so with the lg u300, the contract is free for the duration?
    2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.

Just renewed my contract with 3.
    I got a Sony Ericsson W850i on a 12 month contract for £15 a month (regular price is 30) I get 500mins talktime and 100 texts.
The phone got delivered the following day and I love it to bits!
Ive been with 3 about 4 years now and never had any problems with them. My reception is great both now when in London and before when I lived in Sheffield (I also have another phone on Tmobile and I hardly ever had a reception up north on that network)
Customer services - ok its not brilliant as sometimes its hard to understand what they are saying, but ive hardly ever had to call them and the odd time I did I just hung up and dialed again and luckily I understood the next assistant!
I would happily recommend them to anyone :)

How did you get that as I can't seem to find it anywhere? Thanks
No reliance should be placed on the above.

I have been with 3 for four years with two phones. The problem that I have with them is bringing a contract to an end.
I have had umpteen phone calls from them---I was offered a deal that two days later was taken of the table!!
I wanted my PAC code but was told it was only valid for 30 days and my contract would be made PAYG so my last months rental would be forfiet!
I really have become very frustrated with their C/S. and their options team. I have sent emails and they have rang me back having three phone calls in one day, all about the same thing and every time I am put over to the Options team, last time took 8 minutes to answer.
As you may gather really fed up with them, Have snail mailed their CEO in the hope of getting some satisfaction!!
Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS
  • I've previosly been with Orange(how expensive?) and T-Mobile(crappy handsets), so i decided to go with 3- it's great! Got a Nokia 6280(refurbished) and have 300 minutes and 1000 texts per month for £15! Coverage is great everywhere except in some rooms in my house, and I love the amount of free content on their 3g web stuff-would recommend it anyone-especially if you get your friend to tell 3 and you both get £30!

I'm going to show my ignorance here, so please be nice...;)

I'm looking at the £15/month offer (500 X mins for life). My query is, what happens if I want to change/upgrade my phone after the 18 months - will that still be considered the same contract?
I'm looking at the SE K800i (with quidco it takes the cost of it down to £15).

    Thanks.

I've been with 3 for about 3 years now. Last year they upgraded my handset to a Motorola A1000 and this week I've been given a "loyalty bonus" of a £35 a month contract (500 mins, 100 txts and some other fancy useless-to-me stuff) for only £15 a month (12 month contract) with a free upgrade to Nokia E65 (going straight on ebay as I don't really want it).

    Handset: currently A1000

Most commonly used location: Home and at work

Ease and reliability and connection: No problem at all. If not on 3s own network, jumps onto a 2.5g network. I don't talk while driving, so have never never experienced being in conversation and going between zones....

    Any other problems:
I only ever call them when I want an upgrade they are all very friendly and informative. It's just that the call centres are in countries where the accent is sometimes difficult to understand.

When looking at my options for an upgrade I had difficulty understanding one person. So I sent them an email so it's all written. I then got a call back and text back asking me to call. So I did, sorted it all out and the next day I got a call back to ensure my Qs were answered... not sure if it's simply a courtesy call or administrative error. Anyway, one call a year is nothing to complain about really.

Overall service and rating (out of 10): 8 or 9.

Js_Other_Half: You get your phone on a contract. At the end of that contract, you can upgrade, but they will offer you an upgrade which ties you into a new contract.

I live in Ipswich (postcode: IP2) and work in Colchester (CO1). Does anyone know what '3's coverage is like is in these areas?

    Thanks
