There havn't been many to date, in fact this is the only one I can recall.;)
Now Citroen, Renault, Fiat etc. that's a different story.
Japanese cars never fail, so long as you keep repeating it.

Whoops, missed that one.:o
I was in Spain at the time.:D
I would still only ever buy a Honda. ( or possibly a Mazda )
What else is there that can match their reliability and build quality?0 -
Yes, can't beat a Mazda with a rotary engine.0

As for the 27000 low milage garbage. Explain why all my other cars have done similar milage yet I had bo problems with them.
No complex mechanical item could ever be 100% infallible, FACT! Mechanical items all have a failure rate. A low failure rate for a manufacturer means that generally their cars are reliable and some people must by definition experience failures. A high failure rate might mean generally less reliable but there will still be some people who experience no problems. You were unlucky, but reported failure rates from the industry still show Honda as being amongst the most reliable manufacturers. Fair enough you had a bad experience but to say all the evidence of the industry is wrong on the basis of one failure is severely short sighted. Also please explain why you think the car has only done short journeys?
Untill recently we had 2 cars both doing long journeys but this was split between the 2 cars.
I mentioned BOTH short journeys AND standing for long periods of time as being bad for a car.
Such a low mileage over such a long period of time would indicate either very short journeys or longer journeys interspersed with long periods of sitting idle. You can't have a car that does regular decent journeys and stays at a low mileage, unless you've clocked it?If, by your reasoning low milage can cause increased wear & tear, then please explain why the trade & everyone else prefer both to buy & sell LOW MILeAGE CARS,
Because generally cars will be less worn with a lower mileage. What I was talking about was what can happen in the case of a car with an EXTREMELY LOW MILEAGE for its age, such as yours.
If you have two cars both doing such low mileages, I'd have to question the need for you to have two cars.
BTW I can CAPITALISE random words within a sentence too.0 -

Stop making stupid excuses, stop being silly. The gearbox has done LESS THAN 27000 miles . No one in there right mind would say that is right & everyone would expect the manufacturer to do something about it. The gearbox should be replaced or repaired by Honda for free.Nice to save.0
