You will have to excuse me as I haven't read the whole thing but Roddy views this the same way as I do.
A rogue car is a rogue car, it's not a ford, VW, VX renault or honda etc, it's just a bad car. They all make them. Yes, some will be poisoned by a bad experience and never buy another of the same brand, but some will swear by that same manufacturer.
Each will have a reason for the buyer to do just that, it may be price, or style, or economy, or performance, or even reliability. We each buy them for difference reasons. Where I personally would be really !!!!ed of is if I bought a car for reasons of reliability and then it wasn't. That has actually shot my argument totally down in flames as why would anyone buy a Honda otherwise,:rolleyes:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
If you bothered to read the thread I put a link to, or even Googled 'Honda Jazz faulty gearbox' you would get a load of comments about low milage Jazz cars with gearbox problems.
If you google "faulty citroen saxo" you'll probably come up with 100 times as many pages as googling "faulty honda jazz" despite the fact citroen maybe sold 1/4 the number of saxos as Honda sold Jazzs worldwide. Yet you're saying because the examples of Citroens you had were reliable, that all citroens are reliable and the only honda you've had has had one fault that they are all unreliable.
Now you are bringing in the argument that the same fault has appeared in a number of other Jazzs. Well nothing you've posted or linked to gives any indication of the proportion of cars affected, given most people who never have a fault with a car will never start a thread or an internet page to say they have never had a problem with that car, it makes any objective analysis impossible.
You seem to have an agenda of bringing this thread back at intervals to keep it in the first few pages, this is silly. You've had your rant, if anyone wants to know about Honda Jazzs they'll no doubt find this thread by using the search function. Let it die and stop this feeble "Victor Meldrew" style moaning.0 -
I have been continually digging out facts about the Honda Jazz gearbox problem. I found a few sites & posted them as it backed up what I thought, the gearbox is a rogue one & it's in a lot of Jazz & Civic cars. As I get more information I will of course post it to keep people informed. I will post when I get my gearbox replaced by Honda for Free.Unfortunately some stupid remarks have been posted, what do you expect me to say, it is I who has to pay out the £800-00 not 'chicken eaters, or Honda 'never go wrong' supporters. Honda use the reliability as a selling point. But I'm sure this thread has opened up the eyes to many people who may have bought either a Civic or Jazz. It is not good enough to say ' it's a rogue car, get over it'. It's that exact attitude that lets car manufacturers get away with it. I am taking this matter further, much further & I will post as and when I have more information.Nice to save.0

My first post here, so forgive my intrusion.......
Been reading this thread with interest (that yet another person has this problem) and anger (all the stupid, ignorant, know-it-all muppets that have been yawning at, and taking the !!!! out of a person with a genuine and stressful car problem).
L.S.D - you are most certainly not alone, there are masses of people in the same boat as you. I'm amazed that you've not heard the latest....
Honda have finally acknowledged the problem
As a new user I cannot post a link to another website (grrrrrrr), but suffice to say, try Googling 'Honda Civic Jazz gearbox problem' then check out all the links to Honest John (or pm me and I'll send you the links!!).
Get back to your unhelpful, useless Honda dealer NOW and tell them to sort what should have been sorted by Honda a long time ago. You'll find they've had a service bulletin
We're still battling this one, as our Civic is a 2002 (problem diagnosed early 2008 with 48K on the clock)....and the bulletin only covers cars from 2003 onwards!
Final message to all those that have been heckling poor old L.S.D.....you should hang your heads in shame. I thought MSE was supposed to be about people helping each other, not taking the !!!!. You've all bought yourself a whole heap of bad karma.
L.S.D. - best of luck with the dealer :beer:0 -
Excuse me Everybody,
For some inexplicable reason that ive now forgotten, i have been unable to read the previous five pages.
My question is.....
What's this all about then??0 -
Yawn...yawn...yawn.:wall::wall::wall:
To be absolutely blunt, I didn't even bother to look, you are clearly paranoid and seemingly boring a lot of people with your never ending futile rant.
I think that it is you that is the " stupid " one on this thread, nobody here is going to fix your gearbox.
Who feels stupid now eh? Honda are fixing them, check out the service bulletin issued in December 09....0 -
What do you do when main dealer are being very cagey about service bulletin. Can I get a copy of it or does anybody know of a main dealer who is recognising the warranty exists.
Many thanks0 -

Hi Richard,
I answered you over on Honest JohnBut just to confirm, phone Gatwick Honda...they should be able to give you the service bulletin details. Your dealer is in denial..dunno why, as Honda will pay them to do the work.

Thank you max7, my faith in people has been raised a bar by you. I contacted The Honda Dealers. The gearbox has now been repaired for FREE. They also did the recall on the window winder at the same time. I wish you well in getting your car sorted.Originally Posted by cajef

You 2 idiots, look at yourselves now. Pathetic. You & people like you disgrace the forums. I would never have given up on my Jazz gearbox, I had continued pressing Honda. You 2 will one day, sooner or later need help. I hope you get the same help as I got from you 2 & a few others in the thread. Disgraceful.
Anyone wanting advice should steer away from these 2 like the plague, they don't know what they are talking about.
Again thanks max7.Nice to save.0 -
Absolute pleasure, LSD. I'm so very glad you got yours sorted in the end. Frankly you went through way too much grief, but at least you got a result.
Couldn't agree more re the 2 imbeciles you mention. They may be perfectly normal, agreeable people face to face, but there's something about the net (and in particular web forums like these) that brings out the very worst in some people. Never mind, hopefully they may think again next time.
Then again, maybe not:rotfl:
