Someone mentioned it left a 'footprint' on Equifax, I am curious just to see what the pre-approval would come up with but don't need a card at the moment and don't want to make it harder to get one in 9 or so months when I will need one.

    Hiya

Noooo - it leaves a FP on CallCredit but the search (if you proceed with application) then shows on Equifax. :D

Card arrived this morn! Speedy or what.

Also, I reduced the credit limit by a couple of grand because honestly I felt £5000 was too dangerous, in case of card fraud so I feel a lot better now. The activation bloke said I must have excellent credit, then tried to sell me card protection even though I had just set up a whole bill direct debit. what a noob.

I've done the pre-check and it said that I had a 70-80% chance of getting a card.

I've applied and the online scoring system said that they will need to obtain further information...I've called their callcenter and I'm told to wait for a letter...

Do you actually understand everything that the card protection policy offers you? Obviously not, or you wouldn't have been so rude.

    What a noob.

I work for a bank, I know what card protection is, I have sold it. I have made an informed decision not to have it.

PS, at what point was I rude to the guy? I was not, I quickly informed him that I worked for a bank, and had it already, sorry. (a lie, obviously, but being polite usually gets you off the phone quicker)

    :)

EDIT: Hmm, your post made me look again and I see Amex 'Card Defence' is still only £24 for 13 months but CPP have upped their premium to £29. For some reason I think i'd prefer the Amex protection as I've always had great customer service from them. I'll have to have another think about it
