Barclaycard only uses Equifax, but it was said in previous post that they use CC for preliminary checks but I don't think that anyone has been able to confirm it

It was confirmed and also above post doubles this...... I expect to have nothing on Ex - which would be right, a full search on Eq and a quote on Cc. If not then something isn't right cos Barclays only use Equifax - they even promote their ID Theft assistance thing like Crappy1.......

    Anyway......

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • I was given a 60-70 % chance of getting the "Barclaycard Platinum Credit Card with Balance Transfer"(12months-2.5%fee) which is a bit of a surprise as I already have a LeedsBS card with them already or 80-90% chance of the "Barclaycard Initial Credit Card"(no chance!).
Not looking to add to my 12! cards till January, might need some cash though for a holiday so hope MBNA are as generous with a card with a SBT ability(Norwich + Peterborough BS one I,m thinking)
I have a deep burning indifference

Thank you for the link, mates. I was given 60 to 70% for the Barclaycard Initial.

I hit the apply button and at the end of the process they neither approved nor declined me. They just said they need more information and will be contacting me. No call as for now.

Any ideas of what they will now do? I suspect it will be referred to an underwriter. The problem here is that if they search Experian, a CIFAS marker Cap1 placed in my name will come...

I have checked Equifax and there they are, they made the credit search there. Only problem with Equifax is that they have my credit file split in two. Depending on how I write my address, they send completely different credit files. I got this fixed with Experian, but Equifax just said if I write the address in different ways, they will show different data.

I know, but when you refer to Barclaycard as Barclays it's possible that people may become confused

    Hi

I know Barclays are linked to Equifax - I was referring to HSBC using Experian.....

So to answer you, if you apply for any Barclays or Sygma Bank stuff then they will only search Equifax.

I sure do know about the problems with linked addresses, in my opinion Equifax is the problem with links, not Experian

    ;)

The only bad thing on there is I'm not on the electoral role but thats because I've just moved. Not very good that site though. it said a 'Matched Card' for me was one of the barclaycards but the barclaycard site says I cant have one lol.

Me too! It came up with 55 "matched" cards, including (as one of the 10 "best matched") the Barclaycard I'd just been declined. :rotfl:
