Just found out my goldfish credit limit... £5200!!!! I could do a lot of damage with that, talk about irresponsible lending

It's beats my previous highest limit by over a grand lol I think I will reduce the limits on some of my other cards and keep that one as could be useful. I never expected that I would not have been surprised if my llimit had been 1000

Hi, I'm sorry to be dense but I have read the thread and have a question about the pre authorisation check from barclaycard - does it show on your credit search with Equifax at all to other lenders who check your credit file?

The check only shows as a soft search on your CallCredit file and as such will be invisible to other lenders.

Just got a confirmation email from Barclaycard today,£1000 starting limit so i am gonna close the Capital One and keep the Vanquis open until i have built the credit limit up a bit on the Barclaycard.

Someone mentioned it left a 'footprint' on Equifax, I am curious just to see what the pre-approval would come up with but don't need a card at the moment and don't want to make it harder to get one in 9 or so months when I will need one.
