I just re tried it having had a default removed from Experian today.
Computer says No....
LOL, way too soon mate the lenders feed may not be clear yet! When they write to you then appeal it! If necessary send a copy of your CRA report to them with the appeal.....
Just wait til its off all 3 reports. Plus Barclays only search Equifax - not Experian mate.

Mate we've established that the checker system uses call credit so it appears your call credit file may still be tarnished...... just wait til you get apology from Orange and then you can send this to all lenders. If you say your equifax is clear then try applying for a mainstream card in the next few days that specifically only use Equifax, such as Sygma Bank, Barclaycard, Capital One - just to see what the decline reason is or whether indeed they accept you.
you have to test a few to see what happens

Had my first experience of the customer service today as I just phoned up to ask the credit limit and they said they can't tell me until I get the card.....Kavanne

They should use Equifax so people get a truer picture of what they might get, they are just fooling people by using call credit really.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? well they dont use experian just checked after doing the application0

Barclaycard only uses Equifax, but it was said in previous post that they use CC for preliminary checks but I don't think that anyone has been able to confirm it0
