I had to issue legal proceedings to receive some/all of my cashback
second cash back not received although everything according to t & C, Had to take legal action on both occasions.

Mobile rainbow know their own rules and play. As stated in other topic, I'd rather pay full line rental then go anywhere near them again. Totally unacceptable. Stay well clear.

    mobile rainbow ,
cant speak poorly enough of them
    time wasting , dishonest, deceitful

as others have said , you have to push them hard to get
even the basic facts straight. They will pay , for now
if forced but how long can they carry on like this.

lets hope too many dont get burned when these cheapskates
    finally go belly up.

    take my advice

use ANY other website for your phone.

With only £48,000 profit declared by Mobile Rainbow this should raise alarm bells. By the indications of the poll it could be that the total cash backs owed could exceed the profitability of the company. This could explain why they have to be dragged kicking and screaming to pay out - they may not have the money to do it!! What is shocking is that network suppliers like 3 Network are still using Mobile Rainbow as one of its retailers by allowing the Mobile Rainbow website to promote 3 Network products. They should be held to blame just as much should Mobile Rainbow go bust!.
  • Managed to get my first cashback after threatening legal action. The terms and conditions have changed and what they want now was not specified in my original terms. After being passed to a manager and explaining this he authorised the claim and I got the money.

Following what they wanted the second time around I didn't get the cash within the timescale specified. Phoned and complained and the telephonist sent a hastening internal e-mail and a promise of payment within twelve working days. Guess what! no cash. Just phoned again and told that the claim had not yet been authorised. Another internal e-mail and further waiting.

A friend of mine did get 2nd cashback his after hastening. Starting to loose hope on mine. This bears all the hallmarks of a company with cashflow problems. Be Warned!! I shan't be using them again.

I'll post again in a couple of weeks and let yer all know how I got on.
  • Hi all

I am yet to receive any cashback from Mobile Rainbow.

Mobile Rainbow received my claim on 3rd July 2007. According to their terms and conditions they should've paid within 45 days.

Spoke to thei manager today and gave them an ultimatum of 5 days to return my money or face legal action.

Let's wait another 5 days!!!! I'll keep you posted!!!!!
  • no cash back yet. Gave up on the phone after hanging on for 40 minutes. Sent emails ,no reply. May have to put it down to experience, no probs with carphone warehouse tho

After getting fed up of chasing and chasing I have issued court action via online service to them and told them so. They said a supervisor would speak to me if I dropped the claim. Basically told them that they are late in paying and I will not wait any longer ( had to wait over 2 months for last claim and they only paid after threat of legal action). I also told them I will not drop the claim unless full payment is made.

I have put in a claim for the outstanding cashback claim and £50 for stress, phone bills and time I have spent chasing for my money. Plus £30 court costs.

I have two outstanding cashbacks and hopefully this will chase them up to pay - they say one is being paid but they have said that for over a week now - we shall see.

If they respond and say they have paid I will say that the court claim is for the 2nd claim (if you see what I mean) which is now due for payment. So either way they must pay me my outstanding money.

Do not be fooled by there stall tactics they are just lies.

I asked if calls are recorded and got told yes to which I responded good as they may be needed in court to prove that you have told me payment is being made when it has not. I also told them that if they 'lose' the recordings not to worry as I have recorded our conversations and that they will not be lost and with that they hung up!!!

Will let you know what happens and when and if they pay.

Good luck everyone and please do not use this company again they are bad, bad news

I've received all cashbacks due with some (non-legal) pressure applied
Haha, you've covered all areas there nettsey. Well done! Keep us posted, and DON'T back down until you have full payment cleared into your account.

Mobile Rainbow will try pull any trick to get you to withdraw the claim, as they are seriously scared of the legal action, and are losing hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds by people taking them to court, and adding the extra costs (i.e. £30 court fee's).
  • Through no fault of my own I've lost some/all of my cashback
Got the first two cashbacks ok, the third one, due January, hasn't come yet. I've had just about every line that anyone else has mentioned. First they didn't receive it. Gave them a copy of signed POD. Still said they hadn't had it. Then said money on its way. Then said I had it, only it was the one before.

Had a call to confirm bank details. Still no money. Lots of promises, no money. Haven't bothered to push lately because overall it was worth it for the year with the two cashbacks, but still not what they contracted to.
