It gives them longer to sit on the money to earn interest, or longer for more money to come in so that they can actually honour the cashback cheques. Simple as that.
Don't really want to keep this going, but I cannot see the connection between not stating ASAP that a customer has failed to send in the correct documents, which will surely go against them in court.

Anyone considering the small claims process should visit the 'Which' website.
The process is clearly and concisely described.

Vodaphone,o2, t- Mobile, orange & 3 have all agreed to a voluntary code relating to 'unreasonably short time' on cash back contracts. Code was brokered/arranged by OFCOM in August this year. Check it out on www.mobiletoday.co.uk. Perhaps a way to approach this, other than small claims', would be to contact the networks above indicating problems encountered with CNM and asking them, in accordance with the code, to intervene.
I will have a go tommorow, start with vodaphone I think.
CNM will look a little sad flogging phones without a network to use, even if we could get someone with a bit of clout from one of the networks to give them a call it might make them think.

Any news from members claiming through Money Claim ?

Just a thought, I've just checked up T&C's and now it says you need to send back the "handset dispatch note" with the 1st claim.
When did this "kick in"?? I printed off all my claim forms back in January and no mention was made of them wanting this note.
I hope they don't try and use this as an excuse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took my 2nd contract out in May 2007, I'm 99% sure that this wasn't part of the T&C at that time. Can anyone clarify the date this became part of T&C's?
(I shredded my dispatch note!)
Also, has anyone had their claim refused yet because of this particular reason?0 -

The despatch note request was added sometime between 17/06 and 01/07, not sure of the correct date.
As your original T&C's didn't ask for it, there is no need to send it.
Any problems with cashback regarding this tell them to refer to original T&C's at the time of purchase.
They may give you some CR4P, but that's just CNM's way of doing things.
For CNM, read DLB - Devious Little B&$tards.
Best of luck and keep us informed.
