Yes I have. I got an email to say that my paperwork was being processed and then I got my cheque a few weeks later. :j

Finally made up my mind to go through CNM on one of their 12 months free tariffs, went via Quidco

No sign of referral fee. I placed the order 4 May.

Have just placed a 'missing payment' enquiry through Quidco, anyone else have the same problem?

I'm hoping that just because I called them after 1 week to chase the wherabouts of the order, that this isn't now deemed to be 'not completed wholly online'.

Can anyone else confirm whether CNM are part of Carphone Warehouse. If so, I will definitely run with them ...
  • okay...let's get one thing straight...No they are NOT part of CPW.

They simply use a CPW-owned company to fulfill all their Orange orders. This company is called Vanilla Mobiles and, to be precise, it is actually part of E2Save.

Basically, they act as a go-between (distributor) as CNM do not have a direct relationship with the Orange Network. Infact, they don't have any direct network relationships at all as their remaining contract sales are fulfilled by Dextra (part of the 4U empire).

Now, if they were actually part of CPW, would it not be financial suicide to willingly allow a large chunk of the business that you are capable of keeping in-house to pass to one of your major competitors?

...and to pre-empt the next question...the responsibility for cashback lies squarely at Cool New Mobile's door. E2Save/Vanilla only have a financial relationship with the retailer (paying the retailer the sales commissions that allow them to offer cashback to their customers) , not the customer.

I have received my 3rd cash back in just under 2 weeks from when I posted it off recorded mail 2nd class.

A few little things that were different this time, I got an email at the start of the week saying they had received my cashback claim (they never sent that email before) and now it seems they want original bills, not copies. The cheque is still handwritten!

I am by no means trying to imply my experience is some sort of gaurantee. Only ever take out a mobile phone contract with cash backs if you can afford to pay for the contract anyway, but I am feeling quite confident I will get to the end of 12 months and will have had my mobile phone for free for the whole year:j
