Are they now saying they have "found" your missing page ? They must be admitting they are in the wrong if they are offering you a deal.

Hope I get a phone call.

No bobs ... We as a family are in the very unfortunate position of having 7 cashback phones with CNM.

They declined one of them under the missing pages scam (YEAH right - so I send all the others in correctly except this one?) The remaining 6 claims are being 'dealt with' at the moment and I've not received anything yet. It's gone past the 28 day claim period for 4 of them so they're in breach of their own terms and conditions and I must admit - I'm thinking of taking them to court over this before everything goes belly up! ;(

The call was with regards to possibly two of the claims (in my dad's name.) I've not received calls for the other 2 claims that are in 'processing'.

What's infuriating is that I've JUST called Royal Mail again to ask for confirmation of delivery of that recorded letter. They tell me it was delivered on the 25th of July! ONE DAY LATER...yet for some reason unbeknownst to me they don't have an electronic copy of the signiature and can not give me a copy but can confirm delivery. I have no idea why their online website never sad this, I have no idea why the TWO times I called them previously I was never told this! I can't start on just how bad Royal Mail are. Why aren't there any other 3rd party postal services available???

So basically the 7 day period is up for CNM to respond in my letter. I'm going to write a letter now and send it special delivery instead asking them to comply again within 7 days and then take it to the small claims court - I'll aim to claim for all 7 contracts as I believe they're too incompetant to handle these claims with any efficiency... 7 * £420 = £2940. Damnit I should just repossess one of the director's cars.

Meh - really hating this aggravation.

    I understand now !

I have a feeling they will go under some time. Just hope I get my case settled before they do.

Anyone even thinking about getting a new deal from CNM - DON'T.

More news - contacted Consumer Direct informing them that CNM have not responded to my letter.

They've just escalated the matter to Trading Standards who should be in touch with me by the beginning of next week.

I'll inform them that CNM are late in paying back my other claims and see where things go from there.

The number for Consumer Direct East Midlands is: 01522 563000

I finally received my 2nd cashback cheque yesterday. I had sent the bills on 1st of June. And then reminded them last month again that I have attached all the pages carefully as I have heard that many people are having problems as there have been some concerns regarding the total number of pages of the bills attached.
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

    I've been Money Tipped!
My first cashback cheque is due by the end of next week. The 10 working days for sending the cheque is up on Tuesday. Do people usually get the cheque sent shortly after this time????
My original T&C's were changed from 28 working days to 45 working days, but has since been reverted back with the intervention of TS.
I will allow the 45 day T&C's this time, but not for my second or subsequent claims.
I'm rather hoping they mess up and I'll be able to sue for all future cashbacks and get these cowboys out of my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi,
Been following this thread with nervous trepidation as my first claim went in on 19th May. Didn't hear anything for ages, then about 4-6 weeks ago I got texts saying claim received, claim being processed, claim authorised - cheque will be sent within 10 days. Didn't hear anything for about 3 weeks and read stories about people taking them to court - I emailed them and got a prompt reply saying cheque had been posted that day. OF COURSE IT HAS, I thought - probably buying more time if all these reports of going bust are true. But what came through the post this morning? Only my 1st cashback cheque! It was in the bank 20 minutes later - fingers crossed that it's the first of many.

    I am pleased for you.

I do believe it is the luck of the draw as to who gets paid and who gets the "a page is missing ect" letter.

If anyone is interested in meeting the people responsible for PhoneBoxDirect and CoolNewMobile, they are holding seminars on Tuesday 11th Sep 07 at Express by Holiday Inn, Wandsworth - Battersea, Smugglers Way, Wandsworth, london, SW18 1EG at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm or on Monday 10th Sept 07 at The Express Holiday inn, Newbury Park, 713 Eastern Ave, London, IG2 7RH.

I have been offered to go and attend so that they can try and induce me to take up a Whitelabel Website from them.

In attendance will be the MD - Paul Smith who "Spent 8 years as MD of 4U Ltd"

Maybe he will bring his chequebook.

    Hi Bob,
I have sent a final reminder letter to CNM. I will not give any extra time to them because we know that our previous letters are being delivered to their office quite on time and it shows that royal mail is not affected that much by strike in their area. So why give them any extra time? I will take legal action straight away once my final warning period is over.
