Trading standards are the best bet. Beyond that it's more a matter of presentation and appearance methinks.

I don't see how stapling the pages together will help much - you could just as well not staple them all as not put them all in the envelope loose. But then the same applies to my advice only to send the front page, I suppose.

I think your most powerful ally is the other person/people on this thread who have suffered the same fate. You will be able to get an "independent witness" to state that they have been accused of the same thing, and a pattern will begin to form.

It certaily loooks like they are heading in the WRONG direction.
I'm disgusted by their attitude and was hoping for something better after the Mobileshop fiasco, which at this moment doesn't actually look as bad as it seems. Maybe I should have stuck with the "Devil I know".
I can't beleive they can amend the original contract mid-term, but who knows???????????? Even Consumer Direct aren't fully sure if they have "covered" themselves and I will have to wait until Trading Standards investigate, rather than just "wading in".
Maybe more peolple need to contact Trading Standards especially with the above problems when they say that the bills etc. are missing. It would do no wrong to build up a case history with these cowboys.
Incidentally, since my complaint to them, I have now received 2 emails. One stating all was ok with my claim and the other stating my claim has arrived at the processing centre.

    1st email;
    Hi,
I can see everything was received fine. Based on the date of receipt
your cheque will be despatched with in the next 4 to 5 weeks. We
    apologise
    for
the delays we are encountering at the moment, however we are
    endeavouring
to get payments out sooner if possible.

Please send your next claim as usual.

    Kind Regards
    Mobile Affiliates

    2nd email
We can confirm your claim has arrived at our processing centre and has
been scheduled for assessment. We will update you by email when your
claim has been authorised for payment.

Taking out a contract with CNM??????????????????????????????

    BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Lynsey,
I agree with you that people should report to their local consumer direct advisors to build up a case history against cool new mobile just to indicate that they have become dishonest. The local numbers of consumer direct can be found on:
    http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/about/how-we-help/
I already spoke to my local advisor and told him that cool new mobile are refusing to accept claims as they don't seem to receive the bill pages despite the fact that they were definitely posted to them.

Just a small point about netiquette: that posting was bad enough for the eyes the first time, without you quoting the whole thing again! ;) Notice that there is a link at the beginning of the quote that people can click if they need to read the whole thing; otherwise, you can trim it to a sensible size.

  • Hi all!!
I connected in February 2007 and sent my claim on time etc by special delivery. It was delivery by 28 June. Basically 3 days ago I received a letter to say that they have only received my 1st bill which is "proof of porting" number but not my June bill. As with other posts, I beg to differ and have been liasing with them through this e-mail address
    claims@mobilemediasystems.co.uk
.quite surprisingly they reply within a day or two. Unfortunately they are insisting that they have not received my June bill.
The part which is strange ...................I took digital pictures of the items ,forms +bills together with the actual envelope before they were posted on that day. I have enclosed these in an e-mail to then and they said "
We cannot surmise how or why the claim was incomplete, We can only
    >report
    >on what we received.

After another e-mail and reply, they said "We have not received
this correct claim as yet. If it is now received it
will invalidate all future claims on this order. "

I am going to write to the complaints address on their website and
go from there. When I called they said that they couldn't or
were not authorized to make changes so these have to e in writing.
If this doesn't go anywhere, I can guarantee you all that I will
go as far as the claims court. Its not a difficult process and as
I have evidence ,I guess it will be up to the courts to decide.

I have claimed against onestopphoneshop in the past, but they
were clearly wrong. (They used to have an autochequeback policy
with no claim required and after 2 and a half years of chasing,
they never paid up. Promise after promise.I received all amount+
    interest+court fee 2 weeks ago)

Will post follow up in a few weeks. feel free to contact me if
you need advice. We all need to work together to stop these
    cowboys!! :-)

I have now joined the many who are being refused payment.

I sent my two page bill dated 29th June from T Mobile by recorded delivery and have just received a letter from Mobile Affiliates stating I had not sent the page showing the tariff details. It is incomprehensible that I, and others, would not send both pages. They are theives and liars.

We have to do something to stop this. How many more people are being ripped off weekly by this company ?

Contact Trading Standards. Lot's of people look like they are getting "ripped off", so the more that highlight this problem the better.

I have emailed CNM and stated my wife was a witness to me putting the two page bill into the envelope. I have given them until 6pm on Wednesday 25th July to acknowledge their mistake and confirm my claim. I stated if I do not get a satisfactory reply I will follow up in writing via Recorded Delivery and if necessary take whatever action is needed to get the monies that CNM owe me.

I will not give up on this until I face a Judge in the County Court.

Personally I am quite happy if they take me on. I won't mess around arguing or sending my proof. One letter before action then off to the small claims court where I am more than confident of success.
  • I agree with the latest comments regarding CNM. I have been a customer for yrs and have had many phone cashback's etc.

I recd a letter today stating that I had not sent in the tariff page with my last claim. Absoulte lie.

I have already sent an email (fully expecting the standard 'we have had 2 people checking it etc')

If so I then intend to contact the local Trading Standards and after that write (recd del) to CNM compliants dept. If that fails off to small cliams court (not done it before, but needs doing)

I suspect that all of this will be a major pain for me, but that is why this company feels they can behave unprofessionally and do this thinking most people will give up.

    they thought wrong!
