A very fashionable suggestion

Sorry to pick one bit out (and it isn't a personal slight) but I feel strongly about this - we are not stubbornly refusing to change. We did not ask to be put here - this was the Board Guides decision, after they were asked for a new board.
I am repeating this for the last time - if anyone has any objection to the fashion threads being on the Health Beauty & Fashion board, then take it up with the people who run the site, not with those who post.
Actually it wasn't the BGs decision at all  - I've explained in PMs to I don't know HOW many people now... BGs CANNOT create boards!!!! I asked you to contact MSE towers and I also put forward your suggestions and it was MSE towers who made the decision. BGs are volunteers, we can move and merge posts etc but we do not make board policy, we merely try to enforce those in place.
If someone posts on a thread and you don't "like them" there is a handy ignore function if you click on their user name and choose to see their user profile.
If a post is bullying or abusive then click the Abuse button - this is what it's there for!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

OK the argument about daily or weekly - I can see reasons for either way - those who access the boards on mobile devices or slow connections will find a thread with hundreds if not thousands of replies slow if not impossible to access - daily threads would be highly desirable for those users.
Those with fast access wouldn't see this need because their pages load instantly and all they see is a new thread every day.
Personally (and this is very much personally!) I don't see the need to tell everyone on a daily basis what I wear any more than I feel the need to tell everyone what I eat - I can chastise myself just fine for that extra marsbar or slumming around in my jammies all day at home thanks
BUT some people DO wish to share and they should be allowed to do so provided they remain "nice to all money savers" as Martin would say
I'm not saying I always remain calm on all issues (I know I don't!) but I do try to remain curteous and only reply on threads I either have an interest in or something usefull to add toDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I dont get this " hi jacking"?
Whats "hi jacking" about posting a comment? Surely the "hijacking" comes in when you answer, !!!!! and whine - therefore "hijacking " your own threads by diverting them from topic?
Hey Ive even reported some of AB's posts and had them removed as being rather contentious - as is my right as a board user. Im sure he is as grown up as me and understands that his opinions my not be mine and Im more then entitled to either discuss or report the posts.
YOU ALL have that same right - either ignore the comment, report it under the rules, or discuss the points raised in an adult grown up manner.
So far all Im seeing here is a "them and us" mentality and a lot of bullying accusations
Suki1964, you have some valid points in what you are saying, but TBH the comments & attitude of others who have been attempting to disrupt the fashion-based threads are why I have decided to stop posting. I am fed up of reporting posts, putting people on ingore, reading the b*tching & back-biting and inflammatory comments.
If I DO start posting again, it will be when I feel that the threads are being treated with the respect that any other thread on MSE both deserves & should get.
I (yet again) suggest that those who really don't want to see anything other than Health or Beauty on the Health Beauty & Fashion board take it up with the people who run the site - and not with those who are trying to post reasonable threads on something that interests them. If anyone feels it is trivial, insignificant or pointless drivel, then please do not torment yourself by reading them.0 -

Sorry MrsT - that was my error - I know it wasn't the BG's!0 -

I still argue that we don't need them on this board at all as they dont fit in with any of the boards guidelines and are in fact just gossipy threads suited for the arms
However I think I can restrain myself on posting to them
Can you in your board guide role take a few minutes to at least merge the days where there are two or three of the same threads running and perhaps think about moving them to the arms if they are just discussion threads? I know you move so many others that descend into gossip and chatter that I do think the same guidelines should be applied everywhere0 -

Seconded.

Please post on the suggestions board, or PM those who control the site then.
And BTW, if MSE Towers felt The Arms was the right place, they would be already moving the threads to there........0 -
Does self-awareness have an inversely proportional relationship to interest in "fashion"?0

Its not just those two though is it?
I object strongly to your daily threads I just dont bother making comment on them, I complain directly to MSE towers
So who is the " them and us" you are referring to?
How do you know the "them" arent outnumbering the "us" ?
I do find your arguments very reminiscent of the playground.
This is an open forum. You can not control who posts what where. You either work with it, make change - or go
Simple reallyWhy should it be only the contributors to those threads?
Does that mean I have to make useless posts to the threads in order to be validated as a user to this forum?
Surely with this being an open forum we all have a voice?
I lurk most of the time and when I read the fashion threads I really wonder at what a strange narcistic society we seem to be turning in to. Well some of us at least. It seems to me that the daily fashion thread is to fashion what Jeremy kyle is to Relate.
But that is only my opinion and there are plenty of other threads and topics that fit the same bill. I am not against freedom to post but please not daily threads. One long one, all you need to do is look at the last page each time. It works on other boards why not this one?Flames in the Garden of Eden
