A very fashionable suggestion

So the remark that you made about ab's inability to spell narcissistic didn't come out of nowhere...?

Your wry (I assume, it couldn't possibly have been argumentative) comment was made out of thin air - in a superior manner; yet I'm sure that you meant it tongue-in-cheek.

You know by now that there is a three-way clique that involves ab, Suki and myself (not, but we are at least on the same page), so I "joined in". Are invitations required? Have I missed a new rule about not speaking until spoken to?

I have tried to back away - I get criticised and referred to when I have. Trust me - even if it makes me seem as though I don't know my own mind - I will not let that go. Some of it is way out of proportion. The "reverently" remark was meant with humour. I am serious about what I think about the fashion take-over but beyond that I am sure an intelligent person like you can see dry humour when it is intended.

You pick up on narcissism, why NOT sandles?

Because whoever's misspelling sandals is not using it to insult me! It's common decency to at least spell an insult correctly when hurling it at someone!

Anyway, I don't usually correct spelling or grammar, I think it's quite rude and unnecessary. I only tend to bite if someone is being unreasonable or unfair in their comments.

I think the only way we are ever going to get our own sub board is by having MORE fashion/clothes threads, so in my opinion the 'opposition' should just take no notice of what they don't like until we hopefully get a fashion sub board.

    Oh thats a good idea:D

I don't understand what this thread is about though:confused:

    Neither can he! :o
Interesting. What is wrong with my spelling? Narcistic is an adjective of the noun narcissism.
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

ab - I know you aren't posting to me on this but I did worry that I had got it wrong too; hate to say it dude - you might have to eat humble pie on this one.

I looked it upon wiki  and I am so very glad that I wasn't the first person to use it on this (or any other fashion) thread; I'd have been lynched!!! (Even more.)

Apologies if you've found an alternate spelling, but it's not one I've ever seen and my spell checker (the one on my computer and the one in my head) tells me you're wrong!

GTC - I wouldn't have 'lynched' you, and I didn't 'lynch' absolutebounder either. Bit unfair of you to imply that I did, don't you think?

    Riiiight - I stand corrected.
Not the most popular form though, but I did think that it must be some secret spelling just for those in the know . *taps nose*
Save the humble pie for GrammarGirl then shall I?

    (really big) *sigh*

I wasn't clear - I actually meant if I had been the first person to use the word "narcissistic" to refer to anyone who thinks the fashion threads are a good thing.

    Keep up.

    (Actually, I wasn't clear enough I suppose.)

No need, I've apologised. I'm always happy to apologise if I've been proved wrong... although I won't be using that spelling in my work!
