    In what world?

Banter? Nope - just a statement.

Humour? In what way was it funny?

A classic example of the way the daily fashion thread [STRIKE]
    plummets [/STRIKE] evolves.

Apologies - I just re-read, it was meant to be funny - co-ordinated/light blue. Yes, I get it now.
Of course that's only funny if it's seen as unusual - my wellies are always co-ordinated - when I wear them I wear my sludge green ensemble.
(Riding doesn't necessarily mean that she automatically wears wellies:when I rode every day, I wore full boots or jodhpur boots with chaps. The wellies I keep for the mucky stuff, riding in them is a no-no.)

 Riding in wellies! Yikes a definite no no and not for fashion reasons, for health and safety reasons! Sorry a real pet peeve, hope whoever's daughter keeps the wellies for stable work and has proper riding/jodh boots for riding in, the rough tread can cause a foot to catch in the stirrup in the event of a fall.

Sadly some of the more "fashion concsious" riders don't seem to appreciate this...........

Just seen the above post too and I hope she has adequate insurance cover if she is "working for rides" or riding other than in organised riding lessons in a registered riding school. And that really is moneysaving advice, the last thing you want is a big insurance claim if she is in an accident!

Thank you, she has her own BHS gold insurance.

My daughter does not ride in wellies.
Thank you for this site Martin

So, a weekly thread it is, then?

Just do it because I for one am sick of this pansy-ing about.
If the disruptive comments continue on the weekly thread then you have grounds to complaint with MSE towers since you've compromised and certain factions still aren't satisfied.

As for the questioning the need to "tell the world about it" surely that could be applied to ANYTHING posted on a public forum?
Why isn't it slightly narcissistic (gee I can't spell that word ;)) to ask/tell people about your tooth whitening  I mean people are basically saying "hey my teeth are yellow and I think I'd look better with them whiter so how do I go about it and improve my appearance" and yet heaven forbid you talk about the clothes you wear and suddently you're self centred and precious. Doesn't anyone see the double standards here?

Best to wait and see what happens don't you think?

    Not on my part.

Again - still - my personal issue was with the number and the overwhelming at the outset (reading the link to the discussion before they went/came to the (then) H&B board just underlined what I thought) - it was like an invasion. The way the content degenerates into chatter and chats between individuals (no such thing on a forum really is there?) just proves my point.

But why is that such a problem? So people mention a few off topic things. Why is that a reason to keep trying to disrupt the thread? Surely by you posting inane things means you are engaging in "chatter" too and taking threads off topic

So your issue is the number of threads at the outset. Not how many there are today or yesterday or the day before that. So forgive me but you sound like you are holding a grudge. You are complaining about things from months ago that are no longer an issue. Sure once people realised they had been moved to H&B there was a slight increase. that hasn't been sustained in my opinion. And yet it still rankles with you. Why?

I usually come back to answer something that has been levelled at me or some snide - or downright nasty - comment made about me.

I promised myself yesterday to leave it be - but I don't just "take" personal remarks (such as there have been)) lying down. And the fact remains that NOW the point is that it is still considered BY SOME that a daily thread would not be appropriate; I agree with that and continue to to say so.

There's chatter - and Chatter. The issues that I am raising, responsing to and eliciting responses to are hardly Chatter, let's face it.

Nothing to with liking or not. How does your point stop the board getting cluttered up. with daily threads which are not needed. I think the Bgs or powers that be should ban these daily threads. After all they take down Studentphills on the arms when he has too many and his posts are far far more interesting and cleverly written.
