A very fashionable suggestion

Although many of us find stylish solace in the daily fashion threads, some find them irksome and offensive. So, can we find a solution that suits us all?

It makes me sad that some posters have been put off sharing their fashionable thoughts with the rest of us, because mean jibes have been made.

Can we not reach a peaceful agreement? Some have mentioned have one thread that's updated daily, rather than a new one everyday. I'm indifferent, but do others feel strongly, one way or the other?

And a polite request to all posters - there's a real element of playground bullying going on and it's not big or clever. Feel free to make your opinions known, but no need to get personal.

I'd love to hear thoughts from both sides on this, and from those who usually suffer in silence, grinding their teeth and creating ulcers. Let us know! :)

Gosh what a performance for something so simple, completely ignore the rudeness and it will go away, if the posters who are causing a problem don't have anyone to play with they will look elsewhere, basic psychology I think:confused:I'm easy going as to how the daily fashion thread is formed just as long as it doesn't go away:)

Gosh, it kicked off again didn't it?

I just said this on AB's thred, but although I keep sying it I'm going to suggest again a weekly not daily thread. We cn still post daily, and need not impact on that, and might even help us see where we can be more MSE in buying clothes from how their pattern of wear is (e.g. what wear often and waht we never do: harder to see daily). I do think this is a comprimise we could make with no downside for us.

If some posters are entering a thread just to post rude messages, the likelyhood is they are not offended, just very bored, miserable people. They are probably like that in real life.

The best way is just to ignore them completely and not bite. If they truly don't like what they read in the thread, the easy optionfor everyone is if they don't bother reading it in the first place. It's quite clear from the title what the subject is.

You get trolls on all boards throughout MSE. They are the object of fun in the other boards.

TBH, I'm more likely to lurk than post in future so I will go with the flow.

I just wish that those who object take it up with those who can effect a change, rather than whingeing about it.

I agree with you GlowGirl, although I am guilty of rushing in all guns blazing for an exchange of words, it doesn't bother me, I'll stick up for myself and defend my opinions and I won't take the insults personally. However, it seems some posters are personally affected by the comments and that's not right. People shouldn't be pushed out because of this. So I think we need to address it.

If a weekly thread is the way to go to stop the unkind comments, it may be better to do this than battle on.

Kinda sounds like I'm preparing my army! As long as you all have nice shoes, we'll fight alongside each other!

And that above statement was a complete joke, before anyone pipes up!

A weekly thread instead of daily or even a permanant sticky might work, then there can be no arguments that fashion is taking over by people who don't like it.

I don't really see the problem, yes there are a lot of threads on fashion now, but if I don't fancy reading and participating I don't, I just bypass them and click to the next page to look at other things. People shouldn't be posting nasty comments on any thread at all regardless of their reason, but expecially not because they don't like the threads being here.

I honestly can't see what the fuss is about. Why do you need to clutter up a board with daily threads. One thread named something like what are you wearing today? I cant see why a new one is needed each day. As your favourite poster says the time and date is above each post so you can see what day it is.

Its a shame that we cant have our own sub-forum for this, then the likes of bounder et al maybe slightly happier, but we didnt get it and here we are. daily, weekly or just one thread.............. I'm easy with anything.
