A very fashionable suggestion

I don't understand the intense dislike for daily threads. The massively long threads about weightloss clutter up just as much but they appear to be acceptable because it's one long one
I've never encountered such issues on a forum before. If you don't like or aren't interested in these threads just don't read them. I didn't realise this was rocket scienceI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Handbags at dawn?
I dont think so, my handbags are worth much more to me than that:rotfl:Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
Reasons why not to change to a weekly thread?
Why succumb to bullying?
Why 'reward' bad behaviour?
Why do the majority (over 300 views for a daily thread usually) have to change at the whim of an over-controlling minority of less than a handful of people?
Apart from those reasons, I really wouldn't care. But I care very much about those reasons.0 -

I don't think comprimising is succombing to bullying: meanwhile stubbornly refusing to change might well be as unattractive a position from ''our side'' of the debate.
The fact that its one of us who proposed it (ad nauseam from the day I contributed to the fashion threads) might also suggest its our evolution not a cpitualtion? I like these threads, and all who contributr to them, but I feel we often have a ''strong'' presnece, and that while this isn't a problem, other threads can be bumped, I think its something we can improve for us nd for other users. All the other MSE useful arguments I made also still apply0 -

Sorry to pick one bit out (and it isn't a personal slight) but I feel strongly about this - we are not stubbornly refusing to change. We did not ask to be put here - this was the Board Guides decision, after they were asked for a new board.
I am repeating this for the last time - if anyone has any objection to the fashion threads being on the Health Beauty & Fashion board, then take it up with the people who run the site, not with those who post.0 -

It IS NOT bullying (although I am fully aware that bullying is in the eye of the victim....)
I suppose disagreeing might be seen as 'bad' behaviour - at school (or in the view of my father).
300 view is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Some of my old threads had that number of views - and a much higher ratio of replies.
Most of what is being said in this discussion is all that was suggested by me in the first place.(It need never have escalated to this.)

Is there any reason you can't ignore the fashion threads if you don't like them?
I don't like the Cambridge diet - I think it's dangerous - but I just don't bother going in, never mind imposing my own views on those that choose to use that thread.
What is stopping you ignoring the fashion threads and gettingon with your life?
It's only the internet, why take it so seriously?I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

At first, I wanted to read them; although I maintain my original point about their number at the outset.
They decline so quickly into chatter that of course it is now my preferred choice to avoid them altogether.
This is now about more than that, as is evident by what's being said. I fail to see how one person can be seen as bullying so many others but I stand by what I believe and will continue to.
(I wonder how many of the Fashion devotees actually spent much time on this board before...........?)
Trust me: I DO NOT take the internet - or much on it - seriously at all.0 -

But that smacks of "well if it doesn't have enough replies/views then it's not worthy enough. Surely within the spirit of the board any post (unless its a deliberate ploy to troll) deserve their space on the board.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

It wasn't me who wanted to use number of views as a measure of worth - if that's what matters, a longer thread would have far higher numbers to "justify it's existence/value". (Please note the quote marks.)0
