Thanks, is it possible to obtain the o2 600 contract without the unltd texts and with 500 instead, with web browsing instead?
The advantage I see in dealing with mobiles.co.uk as opposed to the network themselves is the range of phones. The above represents the perfect contract for me, and as such, room for negotiation through the appropriate channels would perhaps sway me in that particular direction, if you get my drift?
Also if one lives nearby the warehouse, could one come by and pick up the package?
Any dates on the TP2 on any of the networks?0 -

Some (most, that I've seen) customers have had success swapping the bolt-on post-connection with O2 Customer Services, but it's not officially an option and your mileage may vary - I'm certainly not able to say yes and it's definitely not something we can do on your behalf, before or after connection. Also if one lives nearby the warehouse, could one come by and pick up the package?

There's no collection available as the actual location of the warehouse is not publicised (it's not on the same site as us, it's Carphone's central one that despatches on our behalf)
TP2, we've submitted it for testing to certain networks and are awaiting approval to range. I'm probably walking the line on what MSE consider "touting for business" at this point so I'll leave it at that.“Official Company Representative

I'm "agreeing to disagree" to the one about the cheque not arriving within the 30 days being grounds for a court case (!), as I don't feel it's a breech of our agreement with the customer in any way (and I'm confident an impartial observer would agree). It's just logistics and not the substantive part of the agreement, which is that we've paid the claimed-for cashback and 'sent' it within the timescale.
County court judges (as impartial an observer as you can get) have agreed that failure by CPW's company's to pay within the stated timescale is a fundamental breach of the contract, and issued a CCJ to pay the whole amount claimed (amount late, amount outstanding for the remaining period of the contract, interest and court fees).0 -

I'd be happy to read more about this, but I strongly suspect this applies to a failure to acknowledge and/or validate the claim rather than how long the cheque takes to arrive?
Also, MJ, I'd be interested in how long your cheque takes to arrive between us saying it's been approved and it arriving in the post - like I said, 28 days is the worst case and I think it's actually much faster. As I'm working to get 28 days shortened an understanding of how fast it really comes would be very helpful.
I'm here to help our customers, and if anyone here can help me do that then I think everyone wins.“Official Company Representative

Your "strong" suspicions are incorrect. It is surprising that you haven't been briefed on this by CPW.
To shortcut this why not speak to the Group Legal Department at the CPW (you will know where they are, as their office is situated in the same premises as your registered office).
Ask them about the CCJs they have had for not paying customers cashbacks (both "automatic" and "redemption"), and also the payouts they have made to claimants who issue summonses (in full, but prior to the case reaching court).
If after speaking to them you still have these suspicions that no payments have been made following court orders for breaches of the contract's timescales, then I will happily post further details to prove the matter for you.0 -

I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion, but thanks for the feedback.
I count 2 people discussing their feelings about how long our cheques take to arrive with me (one of which is a customer who has successfully claimed their cashback) and 5 or 6 who felt they had to praise our fast service and deals. I count many, many more people with questions that I've answered quickly and truthfully, and I've also helped out 30 or so people via PM.
Some people prefer going to the networks direct, and some prefer using 3rd party retailers. Each to their own.

The X1 is discontinued, but clearance versions come into stock occasionally. The X3 looks very interesting though.
Magic, Hero and Touch Diamond 2 are in stock. I don't have a date for the Touch HD but if you PM me I can look it up tomorrow.

Hi Ben,
Ordered a Nokia 5800 Clearance today, all ok but then got a text saying that the phone was out of stock. Tried calling the number but no answer. Just checked and the phone is still showing as available on the mobiles.co.uk site so i guess any stock will be arriving very shortly - any idea of how long? Also read the bit about clearance phones might not have any accessories, is this the norm or very unlikely?
Thanks for any help,
David.
Ps. Cash-back - my view is that its more important the actual claiming process is straightforward, simple and i am kept informed (and of course you get the money), the time scale slipping a few extra weeks is not a major problem..0
