Hello,

Thank you for your recent order.

We can confirm that your order has been accepted by your chosen network and has now been passed to our Quality Team for further checks.

Kind regards,

Mobiles.co.uk

I placed an order for a new phone today with mobiles.co.uk. I already have an account with orange, and my new phone is with orange so I knew I'd get accepted, but does anyone know what the Quality Team is all about?

It means they're stalling. Either the phone isn't in stock or they are checking to see if you've had more than two deals with them in the current 12 month period already. Don't expect too much "quality" from a cpw company.

Alternatively, it means that you have been accepted by the relevant network's credit check and our own internal ID verification process is now happening. Once your order has been reviewed to ensure it's genuine (which obviously it is) it will be despatched.

Why Mr MJ thinks we're stalling I have no idea - perhaps this is how he works - but it's not true.

Or could it be the cpw groups reputation for stalling whenever it can.

Particularly when it comes to honouring their ts + cs to pay cashback when it's due.

Oh, I'm not important like you; I'm merely a customer who's had a massive dose of your company's "service" and honesty in the past. I have no vested interest - you obviously do. The era when cpw goes back to treating its customers fairly will be when I defend you rather than warn against you.

Let's just take one example of Mobiles treatment in particular. Your t&c state that you will send cashback claim cheques within 30 days of receipt of the claim. Instead, you consistently take one-two weeks to accept each claim, and then pass them to cpw to pay - allowing 28 days from that point. This immediately breaks your own t&c and cheques invariably take longer than the 30 days to arrive.

Mobiles.co.uk? I'd be happy to look into it for you.

It is best not to await cpw customer service looking into any breaches of the cashback contract. Once the contract is breached go down the small claim route.

From personal experience the cs are prepared to lie to the courts (via their soplicitor) whilst conducting an email campaign to persuade the "valued customer" to accept a lower settlement to close the case!

You did not answer this one?

I too have had dealings with CPW Companies who tried every tactic to get out out paying my cashback. Funny thing is they eventually paid when legal action was taken.
I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!

I'm not going to speak for Carphone Warehouse, only Mobiles.co.uk. We are a separate company, owned by CPW but managed independently from our own premises.

We've never been taken to court over cashback, not one single time.
