I've read the entire thread and the stickies. Most of the letters of what to expect; the links no longer work.

Since the new legislation in October, has anything changed? Can I still ignore the letters?

I've received a "Notice issued by CP Plus Limited £50 PARKING CHARGE NOTICE" for reason 01 (Exceeded free maximum stay time) in a Morrisons car park.

    The only thing is
    1) It's a lease car with Citroen
    2) I'm in the process of joining the police, could this have any negative effects or show up on background checks?

Nothing really has changed other than you have the opportunity to appeal to a kangaroo court.

As it's a lease car, if I was you I would appeal, so that all the letters go to you and not the lease company and then you can either ignore or continue to appeal to POPLA.

This should have no effect on you joining the Police, although if you get stamped court papers (very unlikely) then come back here for more advice.

No you haven't, else you wouldn't be asking this:

In your case, however, do not ignore. You must send in an appeal in order to stop the PPC sending letters to the lease company. Lease companies have a habit of pretending they are real fines, and paying them, passing on the fake charge plus a healthy (for them) admin fee to boot.

No, it cannot affect your chances in the police, unless you got a CCJ against you. That will not happen in a million years.

Edit: P.S. I see you posted to Pepipoo on this some days ago. All the advice you were given there is sound, and you seem to be following it. So don't worry. You'll get a load of junk mail now, but having read the stickies, you know it's all unenforceable, and nothiing to be concerned about.

    Good luck!

This is an old thread. But the letter chain links do work!

Don't tell me, you looked at the new post-October letter chains (a work in progress for obvious reasons) where, of course, there are no letters yet shown for most PPCs? I may be wrong but did you only click on that potential new letter chain gallery (takes you to pepipoo?). Clearly there are going to be no letters linked there yet for most PPCs. If I am right please go back and look again but this time at the old letter chain gallery we have been working on for many years (the one that is on MSE by Crabman, on this forum itself).

  • As it is now 2013, I wonder what the final outcome was for all of you above. A friend has one which increases tomorrow and we had one in Morrisons.... wouldn't mind but it took more than 2 hours to sit and eat then do a full shop!

I think you should complain to the Manager, tell him what you think, tell him you will take your custom elsewhere if he does not cancel it. Inform him you will tell your friends and family to take their custom elsewhere as well!

Wouldn't you do better to just read the current forum instead?

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

All threads are from 2013 and every thread on the first 2 pages was update today! This is such a busy forum and this thread you posted on is relatively old.

You do know your friend's one does NOT increase because it's ZERO? And yours too?

You do know that you can either ignore or appeal (if in time) and get it cancelled by POPLA now in 2013? All current threads are worth reading and the 2 stickies about POPLA near the top might be the first ones to read.

No-one in their right mind pays a Private Parking charge notice. Please tell your friend, put it on facebook, make sure he comes here to this forum.

You will both need to start your own threads (as your cases are different) unless you are both happy to ignore the whole scam and debt collector threatograms - in which case it's just a matter of playing snap against the pics in this thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2329119

If you want to appeal and use POPLA (England and Wales only) then read the current forum and then start a thread each. You do need help at POPLA stage to get the wording right as it's not a standard appeal that normally wins.

Finally - what happened when you COMPLAINED to the Store Manager at Morrisons about this harassment of customers? DO THAT FIRST.

Well you could help by starting your own thread instead of resurrecting this antique.

Errrrm of course you respond to a small claim or you will be very P
D OFF when they win by default in just a couple of weeks' time as you've not replied to a small claim!

You would be best to read a few threads about small claims and how to defend them, and then post a new thread once you have started to put tother your defence:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/62390347#Comment_62390347

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4585747

You should also post a much calmer first thread asking for help on pepipoo with a titile saying 'Please help court defence CP Plus' (if it was CP Plus):

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=60

Look how many people are defending small claims and even if they lose they don't pay any more than already being demanded (in most cases) and don't get a CCJ either. It's the ultimate way to resolve this scam and if you defend it well you should win or put the PPC off even proceeding to a hearing:

New thread please and pepipoo but READ UP ON THIS first!
