There are two ways to deal with a ppc letter:
method 1: ignore
method 2; fight, although for this to be effective you need to go in the right direction.
Some people will rigorosly defend the ignre method, asdn sugest that anything else is a waste of time, while writing to the ppc/contractors may not get you anywhere, at least it gives some satisfacation that you are diong somehting about it.

i didn't say that I was taking the company on, i meant by others ignoring their tickets, they were doing so.
I don't think you see my point. I have literally done nothing wrong and have been harrassed about it.
I have just shared my theory of how i think this company are making their money.
However, i will take your advice on ignoring the matter on board. I have my reciept to prove i am right if they persue this case further.
So thanks, you have kind of taken a weight off my shoulders there.0 -
Apologies, I misunderstood your post.
I get a bit frustrated when people suggest 'writing/appealing'; there are 20,000+ posts on here saying that 'ignore, ignore, ignore some more' works, so why people think that writing is a better solution is lunacy to me.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
well after talking to you lot on here, i think i am going to do a bit of both.
I am not going to get worked up and focus too much unnessecery negetive energy in emailing this company.
But at the same time, they did get a little personal with me. So the odd dig to the recipent may find it's way into some future emails.
I haven't had a response from them yet anyway, but as soon as i do, i will post it on here. It is not like they have a leg to stand on, so i can't see it being too much of an issue. Advce to anyone else reading this is DO NOT throw away any parking reciept when an automated number-plate reader is involved.0 -

Ignore is good advice, although as for me ( ive ignored previously) i would try and kick up a big fuss - wirting to the ppc and whoever thought it was a good idea to let them in telling them politly to stop sending their letters ( backing this up with harrasment if possible) togehter with a trip to the store in question ( ie Tesco) to see the CS people/manager.
OK it may not get anywhere, but it will give some satisfaction, and the more people that vigourously complain about these things the greater the chance somone may actualy listen ( ok maybe thats just some fantasy) but at least it give you the feeling of some power over these things. From the Plain Language Commission:

Today at 7.15 I parked at our local station car park before heading into London. The sole payment machine was out of order. I left a timed note in the car windcreen explaining that due to the faulty machine I was unable to pay. I also, in rushing for the train, noticed that you can pay by phone so dialed the number from the train to be cut off midway through the automated process by lack of signal. On reaching London I tried again getting as far as entering my debit card details but fell at the last hurdle since I didn't have a 'station code'. One last call attempt got me through to a real person who took my car details and then without pause bunged me back into the auto process sans station code. Useless!
Naturally on returning to the station at lunchtime the CP Plus man had been and had slapped an £80 charge notice on the windscreen (right over the A4 page with my note inside the windscreen) for failing to display a ticket. What will I do now?
Step one, I am changing my bankcard - these crooks aren't taking money without my proper authority. Step two I am tempted to take the ignore route since it's plain that a straightforward appeal will fall on deaf ears.
Comments anyone??0 -
Is this a Penalty Charge Notice, or a Parking Charge Notice?0

Do CP Plus do proper PCNs?
If DDstereo can confirm that this is a Parking Charge Notice (or similar) we can give him the good news.Je Suis Cecil.0 -

CP Plus are a well known PPC, as mentioned in DDstereo's post as the people who issued the ticket.
They patrol a lot of Motorway Service Stations.Je Suis Cecil.0
