A historical moment. Sent and received 2 test emails from and to my Primus email account at 5.05pm. to-day. No more annoying boxes and messages !! Hooray!"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

I have left today and gone with IDnet they cost more but reliably and customer service is excellent I have had nearly 16 months of good service with Primus but just lately the service has gone to pot and I really need a good stable internet these days.Look after the pennies and the pounds will spend themselves0

mazio, well done! voting with your feet (and wallet) is the only way to get the message across that shoddy service is not acceptable. you'll find that having a 1 month contract with idnet really keeps them on their toes. good move!
fwiw i'd still get a separate, isp independent email address, much easier switching providers if you don't have to rely on their email.

I have sent from other accounts to Primus and they weren't rejected but they can't come through Primus because of the password problem.
Spent a bit of time changing my email addresses with places I have accounts with and sending to friends and family so that I don't have to rely on their useless system any more.
As has been said a number of times - it's best not to rely on these types of email.
Wonder if they will compensate for all this hassle? I didn't get anything when the broadband went down for 2 or 3 days a while ago.0 -
Has anyone conducted a speed test on the "up to" 8mb from Primus?
My connection is at 6.2mb but when I do a speed test I am only getting a download speed of 600 kbps when it used to check put at 4-5 mb.
I know the speeds can vary but I expect better than this.
Would be interested if anyone else is experiencing such slow speeds or know of any problems with it?0 -
Got 526kb doing a speed test, supposed to get av of 3.5mb, although usually runs at around 2mb.
Just got 1.6mb on a different site.
2.9mb using another speed test site.
So i'm not too sure just how accurate these results are.0 -
My speed test yesterday was 960 as expected but when I checked to see what my line would support it was between 512 - 1 mb. It used to be up to 5mb, then last week it was 4mb. Maybe our exchange is being funny :rotfl: . Glad we don't pay for more. What else could be the problem, anyone know?0

Ours varies from 5.9 to 6.2 although when I first set up it was 8.4. They call it line training - I think it's more like line strangling.
I checked my download speed this morning and it was 4.78 mb - so back to normal.
Still can't get primus email working - still rejecting password and when I send a test from another account it says "no such user here." Looks like they've kicked me out!
Anyone got theirs fixed properly or have we all given up and moved addresses? (which is maybe what they want us to do)0 -
I don't have any particular problems with download speeds but can no longer get my password for e-mail accepted. I wish they'd post something on their web site - an apology would be a start - and some information about what's happened, what they're doing and when they think it'll be fixed. After more than 2 weeks of e-mail being down, I have no great hopes that they'll recover anything.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
