Shortly after my email service was repaired yesterday it crashed again...it's now back up today (late morning) after I spoke to Gordon at Customer Support who is on the case. I have emailed my complaint about this 3 week outage (or should that be 'outrage'?) which will be forwarded to the Operations Manager. Let's all write to voice our complaint!0

I phoned at 12.45 today, and at 6.30, still waiting for the email password not to come up as rejected.
What with other email addresses i can use, so no problem with people contacting me, and vice versa, certain websites, forums etc, will only allow a ISP address to sign up with, and if a site such as Digital Spy try and contact myself using the registered ISP addy, and the email is "returned to sender", it makes you wonder if this could affect your membership to that site.0 -
Checked the link and it's not an unusual reply - they cannot offer free line rental in his area.
But they could offer him the deal he has now at a dearer rate.
Just like TalkTalk - they only offer free Broadband at the bigger exchanges.
Never mind, it might be different when I'm out of contract. (though I personally feel Primus have breached it with this email fiasco - still up the swanee)"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
Well, damn it. I got home from work to two whining kids who told me that the internet wouln't connect all afternoon. I tried: "the remote server is not responding" until just a couple of minutes ago. Anyone else had internet problems this afternoon/evening or is it a local thing?Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -
Fingers crossed but my service (BB & email) has been OK for the past couple of days!"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

I thankfully haven't had any problems with the BB service (since the major outage last year) but I only have two of my three emails addresses working, so I'll simply change that address over to Gmail.0

Phoned Primus yesterday, to find out what my bill was going to be for this month, as it hasn't appeared online yet, trying to tie up finances for the rest of the month, plus, what with it being a hard month, with a car MOT and car insurance renewal due, i wanted accurate figures, that is the one thing, that lets Primus down, 18185/1899 etc, BT.... all do real time billing, where you can see what your call charges are, however with Primus, you are in the dark, right up till they appear at billing time.
I also wanted to check that a £17 credit, that i was told would be on this bill, had been, after the £15 credit every 3 months not appearing previously i wanted to double check before the bill appeared, so i was expecting, a bill of around £8-10.
The guy on the phone, quoted me £25, saying that my bill would of been £42, had it not been for the £17 credit.
When i asked where these figures came from, it would seem that Primus, is going to charge for the "missing" month, if you remember back to the beginning of the year, there was problems with the billing, and this ended up with a month where we never got a bill.
Well, it looks like this month, is the one they are charging for it.
Just to let everyone know, as, if anyone is in the same position, as myself, where every penny is counted for, and with payday being the end of the month, all my big bills have been paid, and the only 1 i have left is my Primus one, of which i budget for my monthly amount(usually around the same every month), not twice that, and in my case, i haven't received any notification that we are to be charged double this month.
Thought i'd post this here, rather than in the phones section, as most people there are on Primus 2, and only paying 50p/£1 a month in call charges, rather than us broadband users, that are more likely to be on packages with Primus, where there is quite a diiference in £20 or £25 a month, compared to being charged £40 to £50.
Like i say, i found this out, by phoning Primus, just on a general enquiry on what my bill for this month was going to be, so i could budget what cash i had left for shopping etc, i haven't seen or read that this will actually happen, so you may well want to check with Primus yourself.0 -
I also rang Primus yesterday to find out the outcome of my letter of complaint (which I posted to them over a month ago) about the email server problems. I was informed that I should have received an email 3 weeks ago to let me know that the accounts of all customers who wrote in to complain about the lack of service would be receiving a credit of 1 month's payment. Well worth calling Primus to check if you're still waiting for a reply on this.0

I got fed up with calling them and emailing and have never had a penny credit for the failure early this year. I have to wait until Novemeber and then I am off, there are so many better deals out there now.
Can I ask where you are for going because I was thinking of moving to TalkTalk but it sounds too cheap?0
