I don't like using the lord's name in vain, especially on a Sunday, but my eprimus mail is up the swanney again this morning (9.30am.) I can't believe anyone could be this bad at fixing a problem. My BB is OK but slow, so thanks to gmail I can still communicate."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

You want to get your Dad to check out he link below, existing customers can upgrade ! I hear the chorus about Tiscali, but my son has had one service disruption in 2 years. Primus have been rubbish as well. Don't forget the earlier problems. This email thing has taken them over 2 weeks, that is despicable by any standards.

But they could offer him the deal he has now at a dearer rate.
Just like TalkTalk - they only offer free Broadband at the bigger exchanges.
Never mind, it might be different when I'm out of contract. (though I personally feel Primus have breached it with this email fiasco - still up the swanee)0 -
Spoke to Primus just now as my password is still being rejected.
The lad said the issue was resolved yesterday but they are having to load names and passwords back on manually.
So if anyone wants theirs sorted it may be best to ring so it can be put right.
Many probably don't need Primus email now and wouldn't trust it again but if you do and your password is still being rejected it ring in so they get on with it.0 -

Thanks TomDee. I've just rung them on your advice and been told that the new email server has been up and running since last Friday, but as you say most of us have probably already given up on Primus. They reckon it will take 2 to 3 hours to reactivate the account from the time they forward the account details down to their man in London.0 -

Rang again just now and was asked who I spoke to etc.
Then asked to change everything to lower case and when that didn't work was told they would refer it again and it would be 3 to 4 hours.
I have no complaints about the broadband connection apart from that one time a couple of months ago, the speed is up between 4 and 5 mb but I am amazed at the time it has taken to get this sorted.
Let's see if it is sorted out tonight - I wont hold my breath!!0 -
I was told the same yesterday but nothing has changed.

After 3 calls in less than 24 hours to get my old Primus email account reinstated, my email service is finally working again. Initially I was told that the problem had to be at my end because it apparently worked during tests at their end...though nothing had been changed on my computer. I certainly won't be relying on my Primus address as my main email any more after all this unbelievably lengthy saga.0 -
Well, my password's still being rejected. I'm giving up on it now and will stick to my new gmail account and work e-mail account from now on.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

Msmicawber, just keep ringing them up until it works because they really should get it working for you even if they've forced us all to go elsewhere for email accounts...make the most of the freephone number, and insist they reactivate your email!0 -
I think you're right, Gromit2. They shouldn't really get off the hook. I know they throw the e-mail accounts and web space (have never even been interested enough to find out anything about it ...) for 'free', but you're right - if they're there, they should work and be supported. I'll pull my finger out and do a bit of free ringing and nagging.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

Make them work for their money.
My email is still not working after three calls but on principle I will call again tomorrow and ask them again. (they said 3-4 hours today)
Part of me thinks they are trying to disuade people from using their email.
Download speed is ok, but I thought email is part of the deal.
I'm sure in a year the competition will be much greater so they better get their act together.0
