I think we are all getting fed up with it - though I do feel sorry for the guys on the phones - it's not their fault.
Just spoke to Gordon (no remarks!) and he said he has asked for an update but got nothing back. (If he was using email it's no wonder!)
I have managed to set up gmail in outlook express but I would rather it was fixed so I don't have to change all my other account details with banks etc.
I wonder who they are using to try and fix this - it's his/her number we really want!

I agree, I can't get mad at the chap on the phone he sounds so nice and it's not his fault. I've also set up a web account now but like you don't really want to change my address for bills etc.

Yes, I'm with you two - it's no point venting on the poor staff who answer the phone, but it's so frustrating. I'm fortunate as I have another e-mail account, but use different accounts for different things and don't want the hassle of re-registering various accounts with a different e-mail address again.

I noticed that my account's back to neither sending nor receiving - even to itself ('there are no new messages on the server' - what about the one I just sent myself, eh?).

Mine seems to be working OK. again now - primus email server very slow as usual. But thank goodness for Google mail (my main account) as I was able to log in direct to receive and send emails. They are sending and coming through via Windows Mail as well now.

Well, just checked mine both ways and I can no longer send - never mind receive.
I wonder who they use to fix their issues - Jez Kyle?
  • In one way this as done me a favour, I've now set up a web mail account, something I'd never even thought about so hopefully won't have this problem in the future. Think I'll forget my Primus address and stick with web mail.

After posting here to say my emails were now OK, they have gone up the swanee again! No eprimus email whatsoever, still able to send & receive via Google though. This is beyond a joke now.

Same for me - I'm now getting the full "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.eprimus.co.uk', Server: 'mail.eprimus.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F" again.

I just rang Primus for another update...apparently the problem is being dealt with by engineers in the USA who hope to have the service back up within 24 hours... apparently one of their issues is sorting out the huge amount of backlog emails in the system...

I'm not surprised they have a huge backlog. They've done nothing about spam, and now their servers have been down for 10 days or more, so there'll be a monumental amount of data for them to restore from backup or whatever it is they're doing.

    Their disaster recovery's rubbish.

Still down (also BB connection to-day). Getting completely p****d off with Primus. Phoned them again to-day and they "hope it will be fixed to-day." Their Customer Service guys. who I feel for, are completely fed up with lack of answers from HO. It is now 13 days since problems started. I said I would ask for my MAC code and go elsewhere but they say I am under contract until November of this year. Does anyone know how we stand if they are failing to provide the service contracted for. Does a contract have to be signed or by accepting the terms are we legally tied in ??

I thought the problem today with BB connection was my end, looks like it wasn't. Not sure how you stand if they are failing to provide the service. I'm actually out of my 12 month contract and seriously considering asking for my MAC code. What puts me off is trying to decide who else to go with:confused:
