I had found out about the problem yesterday as well, but guess what, it is now 8.50 am on Wed. 2nd Jan. and Primus still haven't fixed it! If I have one complaint about them it is that when a problem arises, they are too slow to fix it. Thank goodness for Google Mail which I use for my main email addresses, that still came through OK.

Anybody else having broadband problems I seem to lose it every couple of weeks (started after their upgrades late last year) call them wait awhile back up and running several hours later this however is no good to me as I need the internet to be more reliable.

Primus are consistently lieing to customers about the rebates they will pay. They are deliberately withholding the credits in the hope that customers forget to claim for them. I have successfully had my credits provided to me after threatening to sue. A colleague who signed up on the same package is being denied the credits as they are now saying he was on a different package - despite having written correspondence that it would be the same package. I would advise staying away from doing business with Primus.

Yet again, just to advise anyone who uses Primus email that there is another problem with the service (since yesterday afternoon so it's now well over 24 hours and still not resolved) and Customer Support is aware of the problem. I won't be relying on Primus for email service again.

You shouldn't rely on ANY ISP for email.

For a couple of pound a year or so you can get your own domain and also if you pay the 60 or so pence per month for POP3 / SMTP access you don't have to worry about ISP email system, plus you can move ISPs as often as you want / can and still keep the same email address.

Similar cane be done with the likes of GMail, but I prefer my own domain.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Thank you, Gromit. I haven't had e-mail for a couple of days now, the internet's running like a dog and I can't get through to them. I get the irritating robot woman who offers me 4 options, then when I choose Broadband, I get cut off. I can log into my account on their web site, but then anything I try to do hangs. I'm getting rather frustrated with them lately.

I suspect their problem is that they have no spam filters, so we're all having to filter spam on our PCs. Their servers must be taking such a hammering. They've got to sort it out ... as I'd tell them if I could speak to them.

This is odd, my primus email was down for a few hours, but as my main addresses are with Google mail, it was not a problem. Completely free and brilliant. Stores everything. Although this normally automatically downloads via Outlook Express, if Primus goes pear-shaped, you can log on direct to Google and receive and send. This means that even if your PC is down or your ISP is completely off (as happened about a month ago) you can use a friend's or a local library to keep in touch.
