Hi there alared !! Did Fast 4 give you the new rate of £4.99 per month? If not, I bet you are not best pleased. Regards.

I believe it's just a standard USB modem, and we all know that anything USB is ropey most the time.

However you can buy wireless ADSL Modem/routers from many places such as the dreaded don't know anything PC World, Dabs.co.uk, Broadbandbuyer.co.uk, BroadbandStuff.co.uk, eBuyer, BigPockets and several other place.

Linksys and Netgear are good routers, Belkin should be avoided as they are mostly problematic.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

They are a doddle, certainly would be silly not to consider a provider only because they don't provide a wireless router. But then BT even said they aren't after people who want to save money, they are after people who are willing to pay more as they believe they are getting more for their money.

With a Wireless router, you just enter the setup page, enter your username and password, ensure 0,38 is used in the required setting, then enable the wireless side, ensuring you have security set up, otherwise you will be having anyone in your area using your broadband connection, it's all pretty simple.

You should also look on EBay. There are loads of wireless routers for sale. Try this link:

Both of these are locked, so that they can only be used with the ISP that provided them, which is not good if/when you want to go for a better deal with another ISP.
