    The change over has to be done within a certain amount of time otherwise the MAC code expires. I found this out during my 'troublesome' change over period. Keep bugging Primus. They can contact BT Wholesale directly and get updates from them.

    Got my "modem" in the post today and phoned Primus to confirm that am meant to be changing over tomorrow.

    Since I want to use my Zoom Router, I'm not going to bother with the modem.

    Does anyone know whether my existing settings (apart from new username and password) should be ok

    encapsulation = PPPoA VC-Mux
    VPI = 0
    VCI = 38

    Glad to report my switchover has gone through with no major hitches.

    I had 5 email accounts with previous provider, and was advised by Primus that they automatically set up the first email account, then I have the option of adding another 5 free of charge.

    I've changed the details for my main account in Outlook Express and set this as default.

    Can anyone tell me how to add the other 5 please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the replies - it seems that the staff on the Primus broadband line are not the best technically and the guy I spoke to said that I had to install my USB modem and CD otherwise I wouldn't get any broadband !!!!

    I think I'll stick with the router

    In OE, click on Tools, then Accounts, then Add, this then takes you through the process. If you want a gmail address(es), which means you never have to change when you move ISPs, let me know by PM your current email address and I can send you one. This goes for any other genuine MSE'ers who would like one.

    Still not changed over they seem to be having more problems switching me over from Wanadoo LLU to Primus - I even had to phone BT on their behalf to find out whether I had a "marker" on my line - you would have thought that they could find this info out themselves

    Yes, this is a problem at the moment, switching away from LLU, it affects all providers, switching from a BTW product to LLU is not a problem, switch back from LLU to BTW or to another LLU does seem to be a problem. There are plans being made to make this easier.
