When you try your username are you typing in your username@eprimus.co.uk not just username? Just a thought.

Yes, i did. But still not working. Maybe I should wait more time until I can see they setup direct debt on website.
  • What time should BT Broadband stop and Primus start?

I am due to go live on the 29th, although according to Primus, they don't send out the modem and welcome pack till the service is live, now i am using a BT Hub, and the router i have ordered from an online store, hasn't arrived due to next day delivery being 3.30 and i order 4pm Thursday, Royal Mail i don't think delivers signed for post on a Saturday, and today is an English holiday, so although the post office is open, there is no mail.

I have dug out the voyager 105 that i had when i was using BT Basic, and this by the looks of it will let you sign in to any service, but it is a bit daft not sending out the modem and pack before the live date, especially when changing from a provider has is using a locked router such as the BT Home Hub.

Broadband services usually stop around 01:00 and the new provider starts a few seconds afterwards.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)
  • Had a few problems this morning, BT blaming the bank holiday for the problems in switching, ended up phoning Primus who chased up BT, then i had an hour with no broadband before Primus kicked in.

Had a couple of problems with getting the email to work in Thunderbird, but after a call to the free technical helpdesk i have it working now.

The Primus equipment hasn't arrived yet, which if i didn't have a 105 Voyager from the BT Basic broadband days, then the router and the hub is married to the BT service, i think personally that the Primus stuff should be with you before your going live date, otherwise if it wasn't for having the 105 i would have a service i was paying for, but couldn't access.

Now, just waiting for a router (not wanting to really use a modem after using a BT router and home hub ive got too used to the always on connection) that i ordered online on Thursday, no doubt the lack of that arriving either will be blamed on the holiday weekend!
  • Anyone who has Primus for a while may be able to answer this for me, i have just received my Primus bill, and it is now charging me £2.99 for the evening and weekend calls, the broadband charges don't start till the 19th Sep, so have missed this bill.

I phoned Primus, and from my understanding of the phone call, the cost of evening and weekend calls, plus the broadband comes to £17.99.

Can anyone already being billed for the calls and the broadband confirm this.

On my bill the £2.99 shows up as Freetalk Plus 2.

Previously, before i signed up for the broadband, i had the free evening and weekend calls at no charge, after my call to Primus, i have noticed that there is a rebate call service from them according to the phone forum, that looks like the same idea of a £15 rebate every 3 months, and at the time of ordering the broadband, there was an indication that the guy signed me up for the wrong package, but would sort it, so i am not sure if the guy i spoke to tonight was getting mixed up with the phone package rather than the phone/broadband package, as the £2.99 billing started on the 15th August, whilst the broadband wasn't active till the end of the month.

The welcome letter i got, wasn't all that clear and does state £14.99 for the broadband, however i am certain the original price quoted on the phone was £17.98, that would make £2.99 and £14.99 the price that i was told when i ordered.

According to my phone call to Primus today concerning my BB start date on the same package, you are entitled to the rebates and with the BB at the end of the 12 months it is equivalent to £8.48 pm after all the rebates. I also have a previous email from Primus detailing the rebates but not listing the phone and BB separately.

I can confirm that your figures are correct. With the BB package you have to pay the £2.99 per month for the free evening and week-end calls, but the rebate of £15 per quarter takes care of that and reduces the price of your BB. Also 3 months free at the end of 1st year, further reduces the average cost. Although there is an element of paying 'upfront', I am very happy with the 1Mb service and free service contact (not that I have needed it apart from getting the email set-up). Only thing I have noticed is that their SMTP/POP server is sometimes very slow to produce emails (I use Google mail). I sometimes have to click on Send/Receive a few times!
    "0844 COSTS YOU MORE"
  • I have tried for the last 6 weeks to get setup and they still cant set it up properly.. i have had 6 letters saying ive got 2mb broadband or 1mb bradband. Have never been set the modem.. very annoyed with it all!

Ive never had the internet at the house so should just be straight forward but its taking too long now and getting slightly fed up of the wait!

Cheers, i think that when signing up, that Primus should be more clearer on how the billing works, but does explain how the price of £17.98 is quoted on the phone, but the welcome to broadband letter quotes £14.99.

I sort of figured out that is how they will be charging for the package, but for a lot of people there will be confusion over how they are now paying £2.99 for a package which was previously free, especially when it isn't till the following month before the broadband starts to be charged, so nothing to compare the total price that you were told you would be paying.
