Hello, just seen this thread, I am with or WAS WITH v21, somebody on the thread recommended Primus a while ago, I phoned Primus the other day, they quoted me £14.99 to include free evening and weekend calls, one year contract, that sounded OK, I was thinking seriously about going with them, free calls they said to technical and office, he was in Scotland, office in London, after the V21 fiasco I intend asking all questions, before jumping.

Do I take it that I do not set up a direct debit for £14.99 a month, and thats it, he did not tell me anything at all about £2.99 and money back, I cannot understand what that is all about.

Any help quickly would oblige, we have been reconnected by the grace of Ofcom and Netservices, so want to try and sort something before the cut me off completey, Thanks a lot oap

OAP - Phone them again, using the 0800 036 0094 number and ask for Grant Ross. He was very helpful to me. Ask if the rebate deal is still on plus the 3 months free at the end of 1st year. Otherwise it is not such a good deal.
PS. You might have to use an 0845 dial-up company for a few days until you get sorted out. Google for dial-up Internet and you will have a choice.

Hi, just phoned Primus, this is the offer, by the way that chap has left the company according to who I spoke with.

£14.99 a ,month, 1 meg bb. Free evening and weekend calls, otherwise 2.5p per minute during the day, also 0845 etc, same as BT

I asked could I put 1899 in front of it, yes, but you would have to dial 1280 first to go back to BT, then 1899, I wonder if it would work?

1 year contract, no money back offers.

    Free modem and connection.

Big company, American, just sorting out their uk broadband packages?? I am thinking about it

    Regards oap

You don't need to go back to BT to use prefix numbers, I use 1899 and 18185 all the time for various numbers. Also using a 0845 number for help is news to me. This is the number (contact customer services on)
0800 036 3839 I was recently given in an email from Primus.

Thanks for that, she told me I had to dial 1280 to return me to bt from their line. I think I am going with Newnet at £12.95 a month, monthly contract, one months notice to remove oneself.

    Cheers and thanks oap

Just to confirm that you can use 1899/18185 etc. without dialling the 1280 BT prefix. The only time you need this is if you want to use BT for instance 0870/0871 numbers

I would look at Primus if they offered 8mb download speeds at a good price. I am with them on option saver 2 for calls with the usual 18........ Primus sales have been good so heres hoping they dip their band into the 8mb field then maybe there will be a challenge out there for the others. At present me sticking with plusnet.
Currently 4 me its Rogers Contract cell phone, REBTEL.COM is the best mobile making and receiving calls to/from UK and Canada:beer:

What time in the evening do the free calls commence and at what time in the morning do they end? I have looked their website but I cannot find the answer?

    I eventually found the answer,

Daytime calls are between 8am and 6pm on weekdays
Evening calls are between 6pm and 8am weekdays
Weekend calls are between midnight on Fridays and midnight on Sundays.
