When i signed up, it was a simple price of £17.98 a month, broadband and evening/weekend calls, the 1st time, i query the lack of the £15 cashback, they start going on about i haven't made a chargeable call, something they forgot to say when you are signing up, now considering i use a dialler, to route calls thru 18185 etc, it can be hard to remember to make a daytime call with Primus, let alone the fact that it seems that they want to invoke terms and conditions without actually telling you about them when you are signing up!0 -

Did have a call from "Stuart" at Primus, asking how my service was, and trying to flog line rental, i did tell him that the overall service was fine, and £17.98 for a unlimited, unmetered, broadband service has been great, with the added bonus of the evening and weekend calls, but, rather than all this cashback nonsense, why don't they just charge, £12.98 every month instead?
I've seen so many of these mobile contract deals, with their cashback offers, and thought that they were more hastle than it was worth, after having to ask for the £15 cashback every time it has been due, and having signed up in August last year, but not being billed till the end of September, it actually starts to get confusing if i should of had 2 or 3 cashbacks by now.
It wasn't till the 4th bill, that i got cashback, but the way the timings go, this would mean that the 4th and final cashback would be well after my signing up date, and of course there is the question of the 3 months free after 12 months payment, i wonder if that will be paid out automatically?
Overall, perhaps it would of been easier just going for the standard no cashback with a slightly lower monthly payment, the service from Primus has been very good, no drop outs, and obviously the fact that the broadband has been unmetered made it even better, just a shame that their systems don't seem to have been set up properly to automatically redeem the offer that they themselves offered to their existing Primus phone service users.0 -
I received my first two credits of £15 OK but you only get it at the end of the month following so it appears on the 4th monthly bill, so the 2nd one came at the end of the 8th month and then they conveniently forgot the 3rd one!
After a phone call they promised to correct this but next month's bill arrived and no credit, then they came out with the no chargeqable calls made during one month which stops the payment rule!. I had never heard of this and they said it is in the Terms & Conditions, which I have read through and cannot find. Futhermore this was not explained when signing up which is only common courtesy to do so. After speaking to the duty manager he has agreed to put the credit through, watch this space!! This system is pants as Steven Cardwell points out and it means that I will get the final credit of £15 plus the 3 month's credit long after my 1st year has expired. Having said all of that the service (I am only on the 1Mb deal) has been 1st class and on only one occasion have I been unable to connect. If they deal fairly with the credits I think I will continue but doubt if the £15 credit will be available next year."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
Hello I am still with Newnet at £12.95 a month, all very very efficient, very quick connections, no problems, would you recommend Primus then or not? Does it work out cheaper than what I am paying, of course I pay BT and use 1899 except for premium rate calls. Regards, oap0

I can't help but feel, that Primus get confused what cashback goes with what product, i remember reading about signing up for the evening and weekend call package that gives £15 cashback every 3 months, this does have a "make a call" clause, however i signed up for the broadband package, to sit with the call package i already had, with the cashback deal belonging to the broadband rather than the call part, and obviously the £53 odd back after 12 months only belongs to the taking broadband, rather than the similar call package that was offered via Uswitch.
When i asked why the call package on my bill was now quoting £2.99 instead of free, i was told that they spilt up the cost of the overall bill, but hence still get to the £17.98 quoted on the phone, this was part and parcel of getting the cashback, ie/this was for the benefit of their systems, but at no time was i ever quoted that i had to make a chargeable call, to get cashback on a deal that was supposed to be for broadband.0 -

If it hadn't been for the £53 back after 12 months, then i would of went for the £14.99 a month, as the overall difference from claiming back the £15 every 3 months is quite minimal compared to actually getting charged £3 less a month to start with.0 -
Only just remembered about the £15 cashback every 3 months. I've just checked all my bills online and there is no cashback on any of them, for the full year. I'm getting straight on the phone tomorrow for my £60 back. Must say, the service has been superb. No issues and the unlimted, no fair usage policy is fantastic.0

Just contacted them and they started going on about terms and conditions. They stated that I did not make any chargeable calls during the rebate periods as stated in the terms and conditions. What terms and conditions I asked? Amazing, that when I signed up last year, I never received any T & C's just a letter with my username and password. Time to write a letter to them and start complaining.0

I've had the same sort of probs with the cash back . But the service has been great and to me thats the bottom line I use it pretty much 12hrs a day bettwen my self and the kids ans apart from some lag when i use the ps2 it works fine . This is more then I had with plus net and from what I've read more then sky, talk talk, aol and some others , sure phoneing an 0800 number is a pain but at least you speak to a human not a bt machine.
