Yes, sorry, forgot to mention the fact that the website is pretty useless and no it is not a dedicated broadband site, but it does include the phone number!

As others have explained they don't have Broadband on their website which is :
    http://www.planet-talk.co.uk/SaverProducts.aspx?source=saver
    They also have one at:

    http://www.primustel.co.uk/

However as previously stated they are treading slowly with BB with exisitng tlephone customers and referrals, as they don't want another E7even fiasco. I believe they are now offering an 8Mb service, but obviously this is more expensive than the1Mb deal. Tel: 0800 036 0094.

Although Primus have a free 0800 support number, they do NOT have a technical support section, you have to rely on the ordinary customer service person. I had a slight problem with my PC as it would not connect automatically when I opened Outlook or Internet Explorer, which it had done previously. I tried everything I could think of but the only way I could connect was to go to Settings, Control Panel, Dial-up Networking and then clicking on the Speedtouch Connection tab. Tried twice to get someone at Primus to help, but got nowhere and one guy said "If you are able to get an internet connection, that is the end of our responsiblity, help with your PC is not our problem!"
Fortunately after acouple of days, the PC sorted itself out and I am back on to auto connection. But if you have a technical problem, don't expect any help from Primus, unless you cannot get connected. Apart from that I am extremely pleased with the package, there has not been a blink really. Only niggle, their email access is sometimes slow to conect. Apart from that still superb value.

To be fair to Primus they're right - while other ISps support may voluntarily give you some help in establishing where the problem lies on your PC - their responsiblity is to ensure that you have a valid useable Broadband line activated -
  • Also you end up paying more for the so say tech support . Most people tend to use it once maybe twice in a year,

The wise amongst you will let others test the water here. If something sounds too good to be true, then it usually is.

At those prices there have to be economies somewhere - it may be customer services, it may be the amount of bandwidth being rented, it may be the technical backup to fix outages etc etc.

All the disasters had early enthusiasts who rushed in, then limped out - Tiscali, Talk Talk, as well as the ones who went totally belly up. And long contracts are a warning sign. If an ISP is confident of the service it offers it will not tie people in for 12 months.

    We will see.
  • All I can say since i've been with them in june the service has been as described. and it has left me with no regrets .But how many people are having their 1st broaband experience , not many i think hence most people will know how to fit filters etc

This company is not quite the same as E7even and V21 etc. who just set up to provide Internet Services. Primus telecoms are the 6th largest in the world and operate in several countries. Also they are not rushing out to advertise cheap broadband, it is getting broadband customers by recommendation and from existing phone users.
