I eventually cancelled at the beginning of this month. Today I received a letter from them giving details of my account, which had been cancelled for a fortnight.I hope you have better luck with them.
As i said earlier in the thread, Primus have my email address and phone number on record as i have their Option 2 phone service, so if there was a problem with the Mac code, and if i hadn't phoned on the Friday to ask about the status of the broadband order since i hadn't recieved any email/letter activation or confirmation, it looks like i wouldn't be any of the wiser, and like i said, it isn't like they don't have any ways of contacting me, because they have 2 different ways on record!
Fingers crossed, but if they can't come up with the goods, then i'll wait and either cancel BT broadband, or wait till the 10th Sep and get another mac code, and go with another ISP that can put the mac code thru in 10 days, considering i placed the order and mac on Monday, it is a bit of a poor excuse that someone put the Mac thru' in small letters, surely the people doing this should of been properly trained, it makes you wonder
I did have one strange thing, got a letter from Primus with my account details on it, dated Friday 18th, i phoned early Friday morning, bit of coincedence that i get a welcome letter the next day after phoning and it is dated teh same day as i phoned, or does it really take 4-5 days from the original order (Monday 14th)to print up a welcome letter, that makes me think that Primus are covering, perhaps someone forgot to place the order, and they are only using the small letters thing as an excuse?0 -
I contacted Primus on the 10th August after leaving talk talk with no MAC code (long story). I received a 'welcome to Primus' Broadband letter dated 16th August with my username and password.
As I have been without BB for a couple of weeks I decided to phone them yesterday to ask when my BB would be activated, they told me that I should receive my modem in a few days and that my BB was now live. As I already have a wireless router I decided to put in my new username and password and I am now connected.
It's taken roughly 10 days so I'm very pleased with the service and have found their staff very helpful.0 -

Did your 'welcome to primus' broadband letter mention cashback scheme at all?
I can't see anything on my letter except 3 months free at the end.0 -

I have just spoken to a very helpful man at Primus and was told if I had the talk anytime plan with BB after rebates, (that they automatically give you!), it worked out to £12.60 (ish) a month at the end of the year. This is very tempting and he suggested that there would probably be offers in the second year as well. Should I go for it?0
