but what will o2 do now....is it just a matter of time now considering they have now removed the 1st June 2006 date?

I think they will have to stick to 1/6/2006 date. They would not have a leg to stand on if they introduced it earler.

    Here comes a semi-rhetorical question

Does this apply to Online or Shop tariffs or both?

I've just spoken to someone at O2 CS who hadn't heard of this, but then asked someone. The page I was looking at, from the link in the OP, is about Online tariff info. Later in the thread there is an Online payg link.

I've been trying to browse my way to the equivalent shop tariff info, in other words pages that have the same format and information, and haven't found it yet.

She told me that this doesn't apply to ordinary tariffs, but I'm not yet confident that this info is accurate, as a few minutes earlier she had never heard anything about this; one thing is sure though - there have been no memos or other information sent out to them about this.

Perhaps one or two other people could make queries about this, or find and post a link to the tariff information pages that apply to ordinary Shop tariffs rather than Online. Nb if you bought online from a dealer, this is the shop tariff; Online is only from the O2 website (including all the free SIM offers).

I've looked at this page. One thing that must be said about the O2 website is that it is difficult to navigate and some pages that should be equivalent to each other have been written in different formats at different times

Please note I'm not definitively saying this applies only to Online contracts - I'm saying there is a lot of ambiguity and would other people also see what they can find out.

my calls via 02 & SF 07744974404 were still included in last 24 hours

cant see how they can legally write 31/05/06 & then bring it earlier..

they wouldnt have any excuses to answer commplaints... So make the most of the 07744 service while u can! J.

Firstly - i dont think they can and will start charging already existing customers, as we can all walk out of our contract.

Second - Even if they do, then they have to give us a 1 month written advance notice, informing the changes.

I have recently signed up to a new O2 contract by buying a new phone from e2save. As stated in previous post, I have had 2 contracts on the Leisuretime Plus 1000 tariff, and now this is my 3rd phone.

Previously, after buying from dialaphone my calls were billed from O2, and my direct debit and bills had the O2 letterheads.

I have not received my first bill yet, but received a welcome letter, welcoming me to O2, with Carphone Warehouse.

I have seen my direct debit has been set up under the name of Carphone Warehouse.

Has anyone here bought a phone from e2save, or carphone warehouse, and still been able to call 0870 numbers. Not too bothered about the 07744 number as I only get 25 x network minutes, but I get 1000 same network minutes.

Carphone Warehouse obviously have some sort of deal with O2, that they administer the billing, rather than just introduce me to the O2 network, and although I'm still on the same tariff as before, it's not O2 that will be billing me.

I can confirm that 0844 is included in 1000 minutes from CPW. I have never tried 0870 on that tarrif but as its in same line of T & C for 0844 / 0845 / 0870 I assume that its included as well. Just do a test call.

i doubt they would introduce it on the sly - that would cause them immense reputation damage!

Just wondering if anyone has received any notification of the proposed changes in the mail today.

A long but useful thread this... one question are operators not obliged to tell people in advance of impending changes to the charges... or an I being naïve. I’m an Orange user and the couple of providers I use are great, but my wife was going to get 02 so I suggested she go Orange instead. If it’s a change in terms though for 02 users can they get away with burying the information in small print for existing users?
