O2 count 0845/0870/0844 numbers as the same rate as landlines, and are therefore included in same network minutes. It was only 07744 that was counted as x network minutes.
I have 2 contracts on Leisuretime Plus via dialaphone (yes I know, they are a bunch of cowboys with exceptionally poor customer service!!), which offers 1000 same network minutes and 25 x network minutes.
I have 1 contract about to come to an end, and recently bought a new contract from e2save, so I hope they have the same relationship with O2 as dialaphone (ie O2 bill me for exactly the same tariff and include the 0870/0845/0844 numbers)
I will wait for the first bill to arrive before making any calls though, as O2 sometimes take a few weeks to start the contract. Although the phone is connected and able to make calls, any calls made are outside your free minutes until the contract begins. However the last 2 phones I got started the contract on the connection date.
Anyway, at least I got 12 months free rental, so even if I don't make use of the 0870 calls, I can still make use of the other calls etc, and I have a decent phone that can be sold.0 -
has anyone recieved a letter stating the changes? I assume they have to give 1 month notice for the changes.0
-
No letters yet, I called and they said no notification on their side as well.0

For those of you who are on O2 and on tariffs like 200,250, 400 etc. with Xnet minutes, most of you may be aware of these so called free international calls via a special number 07744.
Whilst this has been working for some time, o2 have now changed their terms and conditions. It is no longer possible to use 07744 number as part of your inclusive minutes

For those that use their phone to dial this 07744 number, have you been charged for it?
Surely it makes zero sense for o2 to introduce this change as some mobile numbers do start of with 077440 -

Always helps to read original post.

If you look at the Link GTZ 101 has posted O2 now say they charge for 07744 calls any reference to (From the 1/6/2006) has been removed.PF.0 -
Exactly, thats what I am trying to address. O2 have removed the 1st June 2006, meaning the change is already taking into effect????????0

DONT PANIC. I think your find its O2 just conveniently removing the date for their own benefit.
I have just made a test call to an 07744 number and it came out of my inclusive cross network minutes.PF.0 -
Just used an 07744 access number from my Payg Online Anytime Anywhere minutes and i was not charged. It came out of my free inclusive minutes.
If O2 said the 1/6/2006 i cant see how they can change the date back to suit them.
In any case one would hope they would have some sort of recorded announcement saying that your be charged 25p a min if you carry on with call.0 -
but what will o2 do now....is it just a matter of time now considering they have now removed the 1st June 2006 date?0
