Special delivery costs about £4 a time!!

Some companies have about 6 cashback stages, meaning it's going to cost £24 just to get your money back. With e2save, it's usually 3 stages, but still £12 still eats into the free line rental.

If you only have 1 mobile, then it can be offset against having the phone, but if like me, you have lots of mobiles, then I'm in the business of having a phone and getting paid to have the phone (through 12 months free line rental, quidco cashback, and sale of handset), and using the free calls. Spending about 91p on recorded delivery each time isn't quite so much of a burden as £4 a time on special delivery.

Yes - I have never had a problem with 1st class recorded - on one occasion they claimed non-receipt but as I had the recorded 'stub' thery agreed to accept a fax (I always keep originals where allowed or at the very least photocopies)
    I think....

I have a contract with O2 via Link. I am not on a cashback scehme. I would like to cancel as 07744 are not included any more. I spent about 35 mins speaking to diferrent departments including cancellations and they would not budge. In fact no one knew what I was talking about?! May be I was unlucky enough to get untrainded Saturday staff.

I would like to try again. Which number should I call and what should I say, please?

Actually I would say if you got a lot of mobiles with the same dealer it would be even better to send it by special delivery cause spreading the £4 cost between many handsets instead of just one (if they need to be all sent near the same time.) can always send it recorded but if it get lost and the other company tell you tough you are stuck can't claim from royal mail. To the other person about T&C of special delivery consquenital loss never met a customer of ours who had problem claiming for it. Just use three customer experience as an example. One Customer documents arrive a day late which miss the deadline for this special mortgage offer. They claim the difference in cost on the consquential loss (Show prove of increase of cost) and it was paid. Second one passport did not arrive in time so miss holiday, show prove of holiday cost and it was paid. Last one was a cashback deal like we were talking about, show prove of date it had to arrive and cashback would of got and it was paid.

One thing to bear in mind with this, is that some companies specifically require cashback claims to be posted separately. I think there's some discussion in the E2save thread about this.

    ...

Thanks for that, gives me a bit more faith in the system. Have heard a few horror stories hence my caution.

One of the rigid terms and conditions of some companies, in particular e2save, is that if you have more than one mobile from them, you must send each claim in separately.

I've even seen that one company has in their T&Cs that if you send in multiple claims in the same envelope, they will either disregard it if they don't notice it, or charge a £10 admin fee if they do notice it. I think they're called rainbow mobile, or something like that.

Therefore the special delivery theory would still stand, only 1 claim per envelope.

Just remember to read the small print on mobile companies and cashback. They are there to make the average person slip up, and they work on averages which mean that if they're offering 12 months free line rental, by the time people forget to claim, or fall foul of their rigid T&Cs, the average customer will only receive 8 months of it.

I have a contract with o2 that I got via Carphone Warehouse. I'd like to write a letter to them requesting cancellation without charges, however, this thread has become very confusing, so I've no idea what to do.

What information and/or quotes would I need to put in a letter the CPW? and does anyone know the address to send it to?

    Thank you, GT

I received no notification at all, but i've asked here and they say it applies to CPW and other people are cancelling with CPW. I just want to know how I go about it via a letter?
