Is it not possible to use an 0844 access number (from UK Call Checker, which will be included in your inclusive minutes) to dial the 07744 number to dial the international number?

I've just done some homework on this one. It is quite possible to use an 0844 number (from UK Call Checker on this site, which is included in your O2 inclusive minutes) to dial the 07744 number. Not all the 0844 numbers will work but some of them definitely will. This should solve your 07744 problems for the time being at least, the only thing to watch out for is the extra lag on the calls - but hey, it's 'free'!

Yes, the lag is usually the biggest issue when "stacking" call providers. Many international destinations are available via a straight 0844 number, and the ones that are not can be accessed via Simply Fone's 0870 num (though I hear this is unreliable - I need to see how it compares to the "stacking" approach).

Not many of them work for this purpose, but unless you are calling the more expensive destinations, why not just use an 0844 number straight to the desired number?

Can you tell me which 0844 numbers can call to 07744?
    Did you try it?

    Many thanks!

    Thanks for that qadri:T .

If anything I believe that Simplephone is their agent as they are one of the first companies to come up with the 077 access number.

But anyway this is really not my concern all I know is that I use it and it works very well try it first before you jump to conclusions. :money:

    To clarify, Qadri

Simply-Fone resell Swiftnet, which is part of the same group of companies as Story and Auracall. The non-07744 numbers they use are all from Swiftnet, as online number search facilities show.

When you ring S-F customer services, or Auracall, or [I assume] Story, you are actually speaking to Swiftnet, as far as I can tell. On one occasion, I rang two different numbers about 20 minutes apart and spoke to the same person.

It may be that email facilities of these companies are handled separately or together: I really do not know. But perhaps enthusiasm here for the one company should not lead to putting down its rivals who are actually more akin to allies.

I have a contract with O2 via Link. I am not on a cashback scehme. I would like to cancel as 07744 are not included any more. I spent about 35 mins speaking to diferrent departments including cancellations and they would not budge. In fact no one knew what I was talking about?! May be I was unlucky enough to get untrainded Saturday staff.

I would like to try again. Which number should I call and what should I say, please?

I have 2 contracts with O2, one directly (Nov, 2005) and one through onestopphoneshop (April 2006) I guess both of these can be cancelled due to the charging for 07744 numbers? Do I just phone them or do I need to write to them? :) Also will they require the handsets back?

    Thanks :)
