Hmm... it seems like they've changed their stance on this issue then. It's likely that more people than have posted on this board have cancelled because of this, and they're trying to prevent more customers from leaving.
IMHO they don't have a leg to stand on, though, as a tariff you sign up for should have its prices fixed for the term. Their argument that the increase is just passing on increases by a 3rd party does not hold water, IMHO; fact remains is that they increased the charges to you; the reasons should not concern you.
Just switch to the 0870 number then, for the Simply-Fone calls, and let's hope they don't drop 0870 from our allowances in the future0 -
I am sorry if this is obvious to others.....
Are 0844 numbers DEFINIATELY included??
I have been using 0844 566 2020 for last 3/4 days instead of 07744 but the online billing has not cought up for some reason (last call 29/5 on the online billing system)
I see from post abouve we can also use 0870.....which is better option, please?0 -
0870 & 0844 both are included.0

mobilegossip wrote:It would not cover anywhere in the World!!! would it? It has limited destinations and some of them at limited times. Most of the destinations are already covered by 0844 numbers anyway which you can also call from your O2 minutes.
The calls are not strictly free anyway if you paid for the line rental including the minutes you are using to make them.
I dont pay any line rentalfree for 12 months
as for free calls, its 24/7 calls except to india and pakistan which is 24/5, the one i use0 -
My letter was sent separately.
As for line rental, I have got most of it rebated. I just thought it might be better to cancel with 2 months to go, and obviously not get the £40 from dialaphone, then I can sell the phone/get a new contract and sell the new phone quicker.
Also, dialaphone do their best to avoid paying so I need to guess how long I need to keep on the contract after the 12 months to get my £40. At least if I cancel now, I'll know full well I'd forgo the cashback, but have paid £40 less line rental anyway!!0 -
Just thought I would tell you that I successfully called N Zealand on my o2 paygo free monthly allowance today using a 07744 number.
I did it by accident as I had forgotten about June 1st being past.
I didn't get charged so perhaps it only relates to monthly contracts.
I will always in future ring the number briefly before risking it again to see if my balance goes down.
I would have thought we had to be informed first though, and I have heard nothing, or was it an oversight on their part.0 -
Charging will start from 1 July according to O2.0

so has anyboody been successful recently using 07744 as an excuse to cancel their o2 contract?0
