Post 189 in this thread makes things clear!!!

Yes you can call 0844/0845/0870 numbers out of your O2 contract minutes.

Lots of different access numbers can be found here.

Theirs at least 10 0844 numbers you can use.;)

even if the number i dial after dialing a 0870 access number is a mobile number abroad?

    200, 400, 500?

Was looking at section clearly states that if there is a change you can cancel your contract.

Offline customers received text notification on Thursday afternoon telling them of changes to the calling plan T&C, and to consult the website for details. The link they gave did not work as O2 have recently revamped their site and the T&C URI has been changed (much harder to find now IMHO). Online customers were notified by e-mail; check the earlier pages of this thread.

Although I was given the option to, I did not cancel my contract. I chose to accept the new terms and stay, coupled with a £15 discount on my line rental for the remainder of my 12 month term. I can ask for this to continue when I extend/upgrade in December.

I think O2 has one of the better calling plan terms out there. Even if you cannot cancel you can still make international calls out of your inclusive minutes by using the 0870 or 0844 access numbers available.

mzqa395, when did you take out/renew your contract? If it was in May then that might explain why you can't cancel, as the new terms were already out by then.

hmmm im a cpw/o2 (oplt 1000) customer and i havent had any text messages yet, but to complicate things even more i called cpw/o2 support in regards to some unbilled charges on my account, according to the rep he said that 0844 wasnt part of the inclusive bundle and thats why i was being charged. I am sceptical as to whether or not he really knew what he was talking about. as he stated 0845 was included but not 0844 ?

Yes. It doesnt matter where the final destination of your call is as long as the access number you are calling to originate the call is included in the O2 minutes.

    Are you sure about 0844!!

I've heard from other posters that 0844 is included. I recently took out the new contract and found my 0844 was included. I've only had 1 bill so far (which didn't have any useage) but my 2nd bill is only for the line rental and all calls and texts were in the free minutes, and most were 0870, and 0844 calls to my just dial numbers, and I tried 07744, however 07744 seems to have stopped access to 0870.

I have another mobile contract on leisuretime plus 1000, billed directly from O2 with 2 months left to run. I'll need to keep it longer than that, in order to get my cashback from dialaphone, as they force you to keep the contract beyond 12 months otherwise they don't pay up. They also delay payment, to catch a few people who cancel.

Was wondering if it's only any network anytime customers that can cancel, as my 1000 free minutes wouldn't include 07744 anyway, but my 25 x network minutes do. The loss of 25 minutes might not be sufficient grounds to cancel.

Also, I was only after the contract for 12 months to keep the free line rental, use my just dial numbers, and sell the phone afterwards. If I can get out 2 months early then I'd only forfeit the last £40 cashback from dialaphone without having to guess how long after the 12 months I'll need to stay connected.

However as O2 have been arguing with some people, the new charges haven't made a big enough effect to allow cancellation, and even less when I'm only given 25 x net minutes, and 1000 minutes that wouldn't be affected by this charge.

is there any way you can check your current bill balance? I want to see if i have been charged for using a 0870 number.
