Dilemma time, i need some advice!
I have 3 months left of an 18 month dolphin 35 contract, 600 mins unlimited texts... im currently frustrated as i get no data which costs me a fortune..
so id been looking to move to 02 on the simplicity deal which is cheaper per month but you have to buy your own phone
i rang orange saying i wasnt happy about the changes and that it was costing me a fortune anyway cos of data charges, and the really nice lady i spoke to said i had only been using half my minutes and nowhere near the amount of texts i had, but that she could reduce my costs to meet the o2 simplicity deal and give me free anytime data.. so that would be 19.57 reduced from 35
whats tearing me apart is im happy with orange, i have my broadband with them too for a fiver a month, i get magic numbers and orange wednesdays.. but you can't get the iphone...
but then the other half of me says do i want an iphone? ive got an ipod touch and i don't find it very user friendly for texts/emails.. typing is hard work.. plus the new copy/paste facility is hard work and the battery abysmal.. i go to a lot of festivals and the phone would be dead quickly.
If i stay on orange the prices of blackberrys and htc are much cheaper than on 02.. plus i wont have to fork out for a new phone yet..
its just such a dilemma, if i accept oranges offer i could then move in november if i really wanted to. but im using my phone from 3 years ago because the n82 i had at my last upgrade has already broken 3 times and needed fixing.
any advice!!!
I was in the same position couple of months ago but went for the Nokia 5800.
Go and ask for the HTC Hero plus unlimited I-net. I was after the Iphone as well, but also have the ipod touch. They gave me both straight away and I am happy with the deal.0 -

Orange will allow you to upgrade within the last 3 months of your contract but the 3 months will be added to the new contract. you could have always added a data bundle at little cost - like £5 per month for 500MB if you talk to the right person otherwise £7.50 for 250MB

If you only have 3 months left the you have the right to cancel if you wish.

Hope that answers some of your questions0 -
Could someone just clarify something for me?
As my phone and the phone of my wife is on the same account, is one PAC code sufficient?
Or should we have two PAC codes, one for each individual mobile phone number?Definitely one each.
As Above - you will be given the same code for both numbers but listed separately on one paper.0 -
have we worked out yet who is getting the text ? Which price plans etc ? Or will all orange handsets get it ?

Not sure if their stance is changing but i've just phoned them twice - they said they'd just come out of a briefing on this issue. I stated the breach of section 4.3 of the contract and the fact that even though i'm within my minutes there is nothing to say that I won't next month.
Both times they have told me that I am not entitled to cancel and if I still want to, to take legal advice..
Ofcom and Watchdog next I think..0 -
Hi,
My girlfriend wants to cancel her contract with Orange as she is unhappy with her phone and deal, not specifically with Orange. However, she has found a deal on BuyMobilePhones.net which she loves which gives her a free new top of the range phone, better minutes / texts and internet as well as £310 cashback.
Would she be entitled to ring up and cancel her current contract, but then sign up to a new one with Orange using the deal she has found?
Or would that be a bit dodgy? :-/0 -

Yeah but the deal they are offering is not starting a new contract just a reduction on my existing deal so i can still leave in november..
plus they are offering me free data, unlimited texts and 600 minutes all for 19.57 a month which is the 02 simplicity deal
i could buy a blackberry or other phone on orange.. but at the moment im not sure what phone i want. the iphone attracts me, but is it that good? its only on 02 too, a few people have said the iphone is coming to orange.. is it really? and when? if anyone can appease me i might choose to hang on with orange..Mortgage free wannabe!:
