  • Damn that legendary 'text' from Orange !

I called to cancel but was told that I couldn't as I hadn't received the text. I they would not tell me when I would receive it.

Anyone still managed to cancel in the last couple of days without the text ?
  • Quick call to customer loyalty, explained about getting a text message come to my mobile broadband dongle and that I wanted to cancel. All done without any questions.

I don't have to return the laptop either and there is still 22 months left of my contract.

    all sorted!

    happy days:beer:

Just phoned Orange up after receiving the text TWICE from 2472 on Wednesday.

My Mrs and I both have a phone on the same account in her name and we have just phoned up to cancel. PAC code being sent out.

Mrs is well chuffed as she has wanted out from Orange for a while and me tripping over this thread has enabled her to do so.

I personally think the original poster, sexandthecity, should be knighted for services to MSE.

Definitely the most helpful post I've found on here in all the years I've been registered.

EDITED TO ADD: Come on folks, there is a distinct lack of thanks on the original post that started this thread - this user has saved numerous people a lot of money.

Could someone just clarify something for me?

As my phone and the phone of my wife is on the same account, is one PAC code sufficient?

Or should we have two PAC codes, one for each individual mobile phone number?

Dilemma time, i need some advice!

I have 3 months left of an 18 month dolphin 35 contract, 600 mins unlimited texts... im currently frustrated as i get no data which costs me a fortune..

so id been looking to move to 02 on the simplicity deal which is cheaper per month but you have to buy your own phone

i rang orange saying i wasnt happy about the changes and that it was costing me a fortune anyway cos of data charges, and the really nice lady i spoke to said i had only been using half my minutes and nowhere near the amount of texts i had, but that she could reduce my costs to meet the o2 simplicity deal and give me free anytime data.. so that would be 19.57 reduced from 35

whats tearing me apart is im happy with orange, i have my broadband with them too for a fiver a month, i get magic numbers and orange wednesdays.. but you can't get the iphone...

but then the other half of me says do i want an iphone? ive got an ipod touch and i don't find it very user friendly for texts/emails.. typing is hard work.. plus the new copy/paste facility is hard work and the battery abysmal.. i go to a lot of festivals and the phone would be dead quickly.

If i stay on orange the prices of blackberrys and htc are much cheaper than on 02.. plus i wont have to fork out for a new phone yet..

its just such a dilemma, if i accept oranges offer i could then move in november if i really wanted to. but im using my phone from 3 years ago because the n82 i had at my last upgrade has already broken 3 times and needed fixing.

    any advice!!!

I called Orange yesterday about this. My partner recieved the text but i havent.

I am on a Dolphin tariff which gets me unlimited texts and 200 free minutes. Last month I was 20 minutes away from going over my 200 free so was concerned at the new charges.

I got through to billing and she explained she couldnt do anything but would put me through to disconnections so they could discuss the matter.

When transferred, I explained to the young woman that I knew i was entitled to cancel if i wished as they had altered my contract. I explained though that I have been happy with Orange and their service so wasnt particularly keen on going down that route providing they could do something to increase my minutes to ensure I dont go over and be hit with their new charges.

Straight away she said fine and offered me an additional 200 free minutes a month, so 400 in total now. I am very happy with this as this is more than enough! :D

My partner will be doing the same this weekend :)

Your post made me ask the Mrs to ring them up again and we were told that the PAC would work for both numbers.

We were told this the first time but I was unsure that it was accurate.
