Ok guys got the text and read the webpage. It is definitly an excessive increase on the call prices.
What I would like to know to is this though, does it affect my data bundle? Basically I have got a pretty decent deal at the moment, 700 x-net mins, 100 texts, unlimited landline + data for £20 p/m (the guy mustve been feeling genrous at my last upgrade). Now I never go over my minutes but I do use a lot of data. What I am worried about is that they will have the data plan to 250mb.
Does anyone know if they are going to do this?0 -
Does anyone know the exact date these changes were announced and if this can be used to "back date" the termination of the contract? i.e. if i cancelled yesterday and my new billing cycle started yesterday? Is this possible I would love to reclaim my phone bill as I went over my minutes quite a bit.
If someone can provide the exact date when this was issued and also if this will be possible?
I was originally on the 500mb plan, and I rang up on the 23rd to go back to my original plan without knowing these changes were occuring and I was told that I was only going to be given the 250 package - at that time I said I was not accepting this please let me know if I will be able to reclaim my last months bill.
many thanks0 -

Just rang them up and said I had the text and wanted to cancel, they asked no questions and said they will send out a SIM with my new number as PAYG within 30 days and I will be billed up until I get the new PAYG SIM. My contract wasnt up until April so am quite pleased with that as I wanted to leave anyway.
They didnt haggle they just did it, I took the name and phone number of the operative so I can retrace.
Maybe they are just grateful I am staying with Orange PAYG for now and havent lost a customer altogether, I will probably stay with them as long as they offer a decent deal now on PAYG because of how I was treated, if they had been ar*ey I would have gone somewhere else so all credit to them I say0 -

Just say as per the txt you recieved you are not happy with the price increase and as per the T & Cs you wish to leave early iwithout penalty.
It would be handy to have this thread open during the call and locate the bit of the contract someone kindly posted on here just in case though
I am impressed with Orange (for once) they were ok with my wanting to leave and are sending me out a PAYG SIM0 -

The 20p that you are paying at the moment is the per minute charge but it's not the per minute charges for calls that are changing, it is the minimum call charges.
eg/ At the moment if you call an 08 number for only 1 second the minimum charge would be 5p
As of September the 1 second call will cost you 14.7p.0 -
I've managed to cancel my contract using the information in this thread...thank you very much!
However, I forgot to ask whether I also need to write in as that is what is says in the T&C's. So do I also need to write in? Or because they agreed to terminate my contract on the phone, is that enough?0 -
I keep getting the same reply on this.....
Sorry you cannot cancel due to it not applying to yourself, you are well within your minutes and will not affect you..
I state the T & C's and they don't seem to be bothered.... took name and hung up....
