I upgraded to a new contract 2 weeks ago, but now wan't to cancel due to the price increases,
I phoned orange at the weekend wanting to cancel my contract and was told that I would have to send my phone back before they would cancel my contract and this could take up to a week after they receive the phone. Is this correct? Because I don't want to send my phone back and still be paying for a phone that I am not able to use. Or should I phone back tomorrow and speak to someone?
Thanks0 -

I would try calling again and saying that you have received the text saying that prices are changing and you want to cancel your contract due to the increase in price. If they say you have to send the phone back, ask then to point out which section in the T&C's specifies this.
From what other people have specified it sounds like you just keep trying until you get somebody who is helpful.0 -

Fairly painless experience here. I discussed the charges with the customer service guy. Then I asked to cancel and receive my PAC code. He said when I use the PAC code that will initiate the cancellation process.

Hi guys,
Quick question my pac code was alreadyo nits way to me as I wasnt happy with the upgrade deal they were offering and told them to send me the pac code & I would rather pay the 2 months fee to get out of the contract than stay, do you think I could ring back up & say well actually you have changed your T&C's so therefore I wnt to cancel?
Thanks

Darn what am I doing wrong
I just tried twice and got - I don't go over my minutes so it doesn't apply to me (they actually said I shouldn't have got the message!?!) And the last one said it doesn't apply to 08 numbers (which I do call a bit) so it again doesn't apply...
Think it's time to give up - they obviously aren't budging based on my usage!Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
ok thanks for this guys i have now managed to get out of my orange contract early, i was due to end in sep but since moving to my new house in october 08 i have had no orange service at home due to poor signal so its been useless for me.
I just called them and the bloke tried to offer me £10 reduction per month on my contract straight off, and if i could use the phone at home i would have taken it. He said as im not in the last 30 days of my contract i would have to pay £32 termination costs, i said i wasnt happy as im cancelling due to your change in T & C's and your prices have increased if i go outside of my call plan, he then said you havent hit your limit at all this year (wonder why that could be) anyway he offered me more minutes for the same monthly charge lol. I still declined.
He went away for a few minutes and came back and said all cancelled your contract will end 26th Aug so i will still have to pay upuntil then but they will waive the £32 charge, a saving none the less and i have just set up my tesco mobile which i get excellent signal at home with
Happy days thanks MSE guysEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
