i'm really surprised with orange! they really can't make their minds up.

called up this morning and the guy said, yea no problem i can cancel it for you right now. i wasn't completely sure at that time so decided to wait till this afternoon. called up again an hour ago and spoke to a girl who said that she can cancel the contract but if i don't fit within a certain category (she mentioned the email) i risk having to pay the whole contract....i geniuinly had to rush off so told her i would ring back.

i rang again and spoke with a really nice guy. he tried to convince me to stay as i was getting quite a good deal anyways but i said i wanted to leave. he said it was fine and that he would send my PAC. i then mentioned my previous convo with the girl and how she said i might get charged if i don't fall in that particular category and he said that as long as i have recieved the text there is no problem at all. i asked if he was sure and he said yes.

I am getting slightly worried tho. If they are so confused as who can cancel and who can't how can i be sure that this guy knows what he is on about. is anyone else worried that they might get a massive charge on their next bill
  • I've just taken my contract out (upgrade/renewal) about 6 days ago too. got a new htc hero. however i didnt know that when i was sold it with unlimited internet that it was limited to 500mb! I've used almost all of that already so want to goto t-mobile who have a better policy for my needs.

Ive already spoken to orange about this, and they want me to return the phone then give the 30days notice after they recieve it. They will revoke the call plan i now have with the internet and put on the old one, so i will be charged heavily for the 500mb approx ive used so far.

can i use this to get out of my contract instead? I dont mind handing the phone back.

Hello! I'm so happy for you - i know you had a tough time with it haha! I'm working on my nerves and gona brave it this week!

Aw cheers :) Please have another go!! I'm usually so rubbish at things like this - I'm a blummin pushover, but I was in a bad mood with work lol so just kept at it.

Honestly just have a go tomorrow - you'll feel much better for trying :)

    GOOD LUCK :D

The girl I spoke to even admitted that people were getting all sorts of different answers as no-one in Orange really knew what was going on! She said her line manager was almost as confused as the call staff. So even though it's been said before - you have to try again & again.
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...

Ok i took out a new orange contract on Tuesday. So 6 days ago.

When did this come into affect? Basically when is the cut off period. If I wait till my 7 days return is over and ring to cancel it can I? or have they put the new prices on all the contracts?

I mean obv they will be putting it on all the ones from now on but when did they start!?!?! Does anyone know?

I'm sitting on a new HTC Hero that will be finding its way to Ebay if I can!

The text had already gone out when you took out your contract (Tues was the 21st, the text went out 18th/19th). So you'll have agreed the new T&C's when you took out your contract.

well if you speak to the people i have, you're going to end up with 2 contracts. i've got 7 months left on mine, and ive been with them 5 year. and ive been told i have to put it in writing.

I can see a "i'm off to citizens advise" saga!! either that or i think oh well credit rating up the spout any way so just never pay orange again.

I've still got my secret weapon..putting me on 24 mnth contract i didnt ask for and their useless service when i complained my phone is faulty!!

i got my text on the 23rd.
  • Thanks for the advice first of all.

I rang them this morning and was told i will have to wait 30 days, but it will be canceled.

However, i didn't actually receive the text...This shouldnt matter should it as it WILL affect everyone. Has anyone else canceled without receiving the text?

    Thanks.

Also i agree, keep trying. it took me 3 goes.
