Hi,
Been reading the posts with interest. What's the number the text message comes from? Or is it like the messages for the monthly bill which come up just from Orange on my phone?0 -
Its a message direct from Orange, the number comes up as 2472, there is a link that takes u to a web page with details of the price changes. However, the link is only accessible from your handset (orange world).0

Well we have two contracts here and neither one of them have had the text message, and there is nothing in our account on Orange to say anything about price changes, we are on the Racoon 20, one with Orange Unlimited Internet and one with Blackberry Internet, so will this apply to us?0

i got the message fom orange ...
is this minimum charge of 15p applies for 08 numbers?
and if i cancel the contract ,what abt the handset?
plz help me becoz i always call lot of 08 numbers and i dont want to give my handset....0 -
Hi there,
i have just managed to get out of my orange contract
call 150, than choose 1, then 4, then 3 and wait for the answer.
Say that you got a text message from 2472 and as orange will change the phone charges from 14th of august 2009, you want to cancell your actual contract.
You can do that legally: 4.3 You may also terminate your Contract if we vary its terms, resulting in an excessive increase in the Charges or changes that alter your rights under this Contract to your detriment. In such cases you would need to give us at least 14 days written notice prior to your Billing Date (and within one month of us telling you about the changes).
They are not allowed to get your headset back!
Advisor tried to find some "better" deals for me, but I kept saying that I want to cancell. So I will say bye to my orange contract at midnight LOL0 -
When the chap said that the charges would hardly effect me I said it's not just about the charges, it's also the principle that Orange are willing to tie me in to an 18month contract and then partially way through change the fee's to those that I based my orignal purchase on. I said that I didn't agree with this business practice.
I don't really see how a customer service rep. could counteract that arguement.0 -
Phew finally managed to cancel mine!!!! Apparently Orange have had an email this avo, with some rules on it about who can cancel & why.
I just stated it was because of the 08 numbers more than the out of bundle costs and they asked if I wanted to give 30 days notice, get a PAC now or send me a PAYG sim.
Ooh i'm so happy now. Cheers to everyone on this thread who helpedWondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
was considering this for my son, but as we pay £25pm for 2600min, unlimited text and mobile internet I can't find a better deal to move to ( with taking a cashback redemption deal - pain ) so it would be just for the handset reallyAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

Well tried again today... As I tried several times yesterday....
Apparently they have put a note on my account regarding the enquiry, which resulted in me being told I would not be affected... So that is what I am being told on a regular basis...Although I did mention this time that I had spoken to CAB and they told me I had a case(not spoken to them really). He then replied that I could write a letter to Orange stating the issue....
Will writing to them make a difference? What happens if they just fob me off again?0
