Please dont shoot me down for not reading the whole thread. I am in contract with Orange. I am 15 months of an 18 months contract. I took the deal out with Phones 4U on 23rd May. I am wanting to change because my browsing charges are costing me a fortune. I have NOT recieved a text from Orange, just wondered if I have any grounds to cancel with Orange. Will the changes affect me . I am on the £35 per month 600mins unlimited text - Dolphin tariff.

Thanks in advance guys and gals x:o

Yes, but with only 3 months left? you might be better off renewing your contract and getting a deal that includes internet (i only pay £20 per month for 600xnet min unlimited txt and internet from orange, got this deal about a year ago when i said i was going to leave)

    Thanks for your advice Steer.
The thing is I really want the new N97. I was hoping I could cancel with Orange and then get a new contract with Phones 4 u and get the phone for free???
If I went through retentions do you think I would be able to get that phone for free?

    :)

    Hi there,

All customers must agree to our T&Cs before placing their order, in the shopping cart. A copy of these T&Cs are then sent out with the delivery for your records. It is impossible to order from us without ticking a box that says you have read and agree to them.

It is correct that Mobiles.co.uk lose substantial amounts of money should you cancel your contract early, hence the provision in the T&Cs allowing us to give customers free phones on the understanding the contract remains live for the minimum agreed term.

    Regards
    Ben

Let's get back to my question. Orange are refusing to canecel because they say, since I joined at end of June, Orange T&C's should have been included when I ordered the phone from mobiles.co.uk.

Where are my Orange T&C's from Mobiles.co.uk?

I have no issues sending my phone back.

Just off the phone again to 150! The Premier team, whatever they are.
Guy states that website T&C's are up to date.
Also stated PAYM tariff information is up to date as per June and July.
I stated that PAYM tariffs for OOB was listed as 5p minimum charge.
I asked him if all contracts were being charged at 15p minimum to which he agreed.
I asked then , why could I not cancel now.
He stated I needed to get the text message and then he could put me through to the disconnections team.
I also stated that International call charges were increasing, but again he said he could not transfer me until I got the text message.

SO, from this guy, it looks like I have been lied to by other Cust support, even disconnections, unless there is something in the T&C's on the website now that wasn't there 2 months ago. Anyone have an old online copy of T&C's from May, and can do a diff on that and the new one?

But I take heart, as others have got the text message and they have a contract as late as myself so here's hoping the text comes soon.

i wasn't allowed to to cancel until I received the text message. When I rang they were able to tell me that 'you are not due to get the text until tomoro, after you received it ,then you can call back'. When I recevied the text,I called back and cancelled.Looks like they are sending it out gradually.

My husband took a new contract out in june and he received the text today.

So you should get it if you also joined in june.

I was told by the same guy that he couldn't tell me when I am going to get the text! Is that another lie?
I wonder how they are staggering the texts? Alphabetically, Phone number numerically, or chronologically ?

Anyone else on here have a Dolphin40 from end of June that already got the text?

currently on the phone to them..
  • Sorry to ask again, but if I do cancel, when I get my PAC, could I use it to move to a different orange plan, or does it have to be to a different network?
    Thanks
