There are loads of people that have been allowed to cancel that have signed up as late as July.....

The price guide pdf on the orange site, and the site itself still say the minimum charge would be 5p. So I don't see how they could defend it by saying new customers have agreed to the new charges.

And if the new charges are indeed in new contracts when they are signed, its misleading advertising if nothing else to still have the old prices on the site.

I'm going to phone tomorrow and try to get a discount, as I don't want to cancel as I'd have to send the phone back (Bought it from mobiles.co.uk).

Just called and cancelled my Wife's contract, was initially offered a £5/Mth discount & 200 extra minutes. But opted to cancel and take the PAC code. Which they advised will be with us in 3-5 days via post.

Also advised that the contract will expire 30 days from today so 2nd September, 2009. Confirmed with them it will end the contract because of the T's & C's changes and I will owe no further money to them. Requested it in writing which they say they will send but not that confident they will. Anyone else had written confirmation of the cancellation?

i got a letter saying i'd cancelled on 29th... and then it went on to say i should ring up for a fantastic offer.

Just cancelled, first guy told me I'd have to buy out the contract as I'd not had the text message.

Second guy didn't ask if I got the message, he just cancelled.

wonder how many people have cancelled ???

i did sign back up to orange through dialaphone

unfortunately dialaphone didnt have part of the order in stock so i cancelled that one and went with o2, on a price plan that is spot on for me.

so orange have lost my custom, through no fault of their own, i was perfectly happy, just took the opportunity to get a new handset earlier.

Is everyone that rings up to cancel given the choice of a discount on their price plan?, I've read of £10 and £5 reductions.
I only joined Orange in June and like the plan and the phone but obviously would like the £25 p/m cost reduced if possible and if asking to cancel they offer me a reduction that would be good;)

Sent them an email last week asking them if i canceled would i have to send my phone back and they said i had to send it back in the email they sent me 2day.

The way I understand it, third parties like mobiles.co.uk (and CPW who own them) can sell contracts and make a profit because they get commission from the network each month for each contract taken up through them.

Once you cancel, they will stop getting the commission from orange, so would know you've cancelled.

You may be lucky in that you can get away with it, but considering some phones are really expensive, and they'd end up loosing a lot of money, I doubt it.

I bought mine from them, and am just going to try to get a discount from orange so I can keep my phone lol. See what happens tomorrow.
